Typical egocentric vinyl hipsters working at this shop. As many people have written here, you try and talk with the people at the shop about some records or certain styles of music and the answers you get are pretty laughable. What I find the funniest is that when you do talk with them they are pretty fast on telling you that they "hate" discogs and do all their pricing themselves. Funny because they mark up records like crazy, 12s that cost you 50-60 euros on discogs can easily go up to 100 on spacehall, probably the biggest sharks in the game. Great way to keep the vinyl spirit alive Pretty sad store and in my opinion only for the kind of people who are in to vinyl since little time, visiting Berlin and want to see something hipsterish. If you really want to dig however I would not recommend this place.
Great selection of all kinds of music genres. Definitely worth to visit if you like records. They sell records, bags, books and more merchandise stuff. The store is deep and dark. The service could be better. A 'Hi' is hard to get and if you've questions the answers stay superficial. Spacehall is great for records, but leaks in talks and information about music.
One of my favorite shops in Berlin. Great selection and friendly staff. A must!
Large selection, but with prices like these you might expect a little bit of friendliness, and not having your bag pulled off your back, because you fail to see the small sign at the counter
a really impressing recordstore! incredible selection, you may spend hours here. prices are rather high and the staff/the owner seems to be addicted to the typical "berliner schnauze". if you are in berlin, you should nevertheless visit this place!
Space Hall is the digger's paradise. Great place to dig Techno vinyls. They also have a large choice of pop-rock and electronica.. Huge record store spilt into backroom for electronic music aficionados and the front space for rock/indie/jazz etc plus cds.
Every time I've come here I've got a brand new copy of all the old techno records I was searching for. Huge back stockGot to say it is so much better than going to second hand record stores in Berlin and getting some used/almost useless record for cheap. Listening booths are really comfterable and chill which is good for diggers/djs who need time to select. Selection is really interesting too. good for people who want something different.
Yes, the selection is good. But if you like to crate for some gems and you`re not loaded with cash then go somewhere else. Or wait, they dumped like 200 (not kidding!) of the SAME old, cheesy trance record in their "on-sale" bucket. The price was 1 or 2 euros.
If you genuinely like music, have character and are not some 'brain-dead-sheep' following the digital age and all the sadness that comes with it, this is the record store for you. Not only does it consist of everything that is lacking now in society (soul, meaning, strength) but the collection is one you won't find anywhere else in Europe or even globally. Times are changing and it's the shops like Spacehall that keep the blood circulating amongst the veins of an ever diminishing society that is getting less engaging by the second. You can start listening to Dub.. disco and end up in a strange selection of Techno, one you won't find again. When I came first to the store it really gave me hope in an industry that so many people 'love' in the sense of wearing a fake mask to impress, the real music lovers know it is and will be forever, the only one, the last one and the best. Very happy to have found this place
