If your traveling on the Romantic Road (by bike or car) this is well worth a visit. Do pay a visit to their website to check visiting times as you can’t visit during services. During the summer months I stop by about once a week on one of my bike rides. Good restaurant nearby as well.

A UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE..well worth a visit, especially if you ' re touring the castles of Ludwig II in Bavaria. A Rococo gem!

A very non imposing church from the outside but absolutely amazing when you get inside. The only problem is that it is now such a tourist attraction there are quite literally bus loads of people going through it all the time. Kind of takes the gloss off the whole experience.

Absolutely stunning church! Stopped by on an early Friday morning en route to Linderhof Palace and found that we were the only car in the parking lot. This church is surrounded by bucolic fields of cows and working cattle dogs, which provided an amazing contrast to the opulent rococo decorations inside. Not to be missed!

Impressive but very crowded, can't take pictures inside and you have to pay for parking. The other church in Steingaden, Welfenmünster, was just as impressive and when we went there was only a couple other people.
