Very beautiful cathedral. It has really detailed mosaic and also comprise the royal throne which went through 42 coronation. Small cathedral but still quite impressive i would say. It is definitely worth a visit.

One of the most beautiful places of Europe.
Built be Carlomagno himself is a unique cathedral with an octogonal core full of color and life.
Just this visit is worth the trip to Aachen. However, the city is lovely. We visited in December, and enjoyed the Christmas market and the Eierpunsch.

Beautiful cathedral worth to visit in Aachen. Organized tours are available to visit lock places, it is worthy if you want to know more about how the cathedral was built and the history arround Carlomagno. During X-mas Aachen is a good place to visit the X-mas market. You'll find full food and drinks street shops all arround the cathedral and the hot-wine helps to keep yourself warm.

Rich history and background through the ages. The tour was nice for access to various areas that are otherwise secured. Worth the visit.

Pretty place with interesting history. Don't bother going upstairs to see the chair. It's just a stone chair. Guided tour was interesting, my favorite part were seeing the glass and coffins in the back of the church

Take the time to visit this lovely city and this most historic of cathedrals, where Charlemagne's legacy is clear. Make sure to take the guided tour since you can't get upstairs to the room with the chair of the Holy Roman Emperors unless you're with the tour. Well worth your time for an understanding of European history.

The Cathedral of Aix-la-Chapelle is one of the oldest and most beautiful cathedrals in Europe and was built more than one thousand two hundred years ago. Emperor Charlemagne, one of the most important historical figures in medieval times, was buried there. If you care about medieval culture and history, a guided tour of this majestic building is mandatory.
