You walk through Karls Gate, which is striking. The old town is beautiful, but the entire area is crowded with modern retail stores, losing a touch of charm. Most of the restaurants in this part of town are in the alley side of the streets. We almost missed this and couldn't find a good place to eat when we first arrived. Look on the side streets and "alley side" for the charming restaurants.

Beautiful rebuild of the old town hall. The old town is actually newer than the new town hall because it was completely destroyed during the war.
