  the atmosphere of the restaurant inside is not that nice, the torteli I ate were way too salty, not the best experience

  Food ok. No tap water (apparently illegal without a filter in munich!?). Also no Visa or MasterCard accepted despite them having a card machine. Not great for business people.

  Osteria Mugolone is a very nice, small and elegant Italian restaurant in one of the nicest areas in Munich.
  
  The atmosphere is very nice, it offers the needed intimacy for a romantic dinner, but also the nice liveliness of an Italian restaurant when going out with friends.
  
  The food is great. Really, I've nothing more to add here, it is truly delicious, and I am usually reluctant with such statements. Make sure you pair it with a nice wine (the Indio Montepulciano d'Abruzzo we recently had was amazing).
  
  But I want to take the rest of this review to praise the wonderful staff and service.
  Wanting to organize a nice birthday dinner for my wife, I approached the staff and asked if we can plan something special. I was utterly impressed by their openness to this idea and their willingness to help. I had even met with the chef, who created a five-course menu specially for us. Also, the very nice lady who I believe is the chef's wife (if I misunderstood, I'm sorry and I blame it on my poor German), picked out a beautiful red rose which was waiting for us on the table.
  The dinner was something special, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was very nice and the service was wonderful. The chef took some time out of this busy evening to come and say hello to us - we were impressed. And, to top it all, we left home with the red rose, which was given to my wife as a gift from the house.
  
  It was a wonderful evening, which definitely set Osteria Mugolone as our favorite Italian restaurant in Munich. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

  My favorite of the many Italian places near here. Not mind-blowing, but a cut above the neighborhood average with very good service.
