The only reason that it is getting 2 stars is due to the selection of tech products and the size of the store. It lost the other 3 due to the fact that the staff can be rude at times, they are to the most part incompetent and when dealing with customer service you land up regretting ever walking through the door in the first place. Out of the handful of interactions with this store over the last few years, many have left me annoyed due to their staffs incompetence. While the coffee bar is cool, they need a real bar so that you can liquor up before dealing with these idiots.
I went to buy vacuum cleaner first at Saturn and then Mediamarkt. We asked information how to understand which one is better. One employee at Saturn said "This is good, it's German brand" I wanted to buy powerful suction vacuum, we were not sure which one was good because of lack of information so we went Mediamarkt to check, we could plug each vacuum cleaner and try it and at that point, it was very easy to decide. So instead of suggested German brand(from employee of Saturn) we bought one which is less famous(it was suggested as bad vacuum cleaner by employee at Saturn but recommended as good one by employee of Mediamarkt) but very powerful, light and energy sufficient vacuum cleaner. From now on, I will just go to Mediamarkt. I even saw a woman trying hair iron.
And some cashiers in Berlin are often very unfriendly if you don't speak German, neither they try to communicate with body language or gesture. So I experienced unfriendly cashier here but it's not first time experience here in Berlin. So don't expect much this kind of kindness But of course, there are many kind and friendly people too.
It has good prices and many technology options and it's big.
Best place to try out and buy technology, especially cameras. Apart from that they have a nice coffee-bar on the second floor where you can enjoy a decent espresso.
a lot of electronic stuff u will get lost there :-D
Biggest branch in Berlin, friendly staff and helpful, but i hope if they more organize about the way that helping the customers find what they looking for.
Not much different than other Media Markt. Used to have Google section but not anymore. There is a coffee bar.
Can't always say this about Media Markt, but this is a good one. They really seem to have put some effort into staff training here. Also they seem to have a higher quota of special offers here, so if you're in the area it's worth checking out. In particular, the Google Store is great and the staff there are excellent at helping you to get the best out of the "Google Experience."
Bought a cellular phone yesterday. Price was good and the guy that helped me was nice.
But, after the purchase, I went to the counter table after the cashiers, and took the phone out to make sure it works. A few moments after that a security guy came and started yelling in a really bad manner and waved me to the exit. I tried to explain in English (i'm a tourist) that I paid for the device and only wanted to make sure everying is in order but he continued to yell in German without a single English word. Felt like he didn't want to speak English on purpose.
So I went out with a really bad taste. That's too bad because at first I wanted to recommend my friends about this place.
