Beautiful church, worth visiting if you are travelling to the ferry and have some time left.

Amazing building, especially if this is your first brick gothic cathedral. Beautifully restored gothic interior. Sad broken bells left display destruction of war amidst the restored tranquility of God's peace.

I almost forgot about this church there in Lubeck. I toured with a gospel group 4 times with a concert we gave there at this beautiful church.
The people of the town were a little apprehensive at first but quickly welcomed us. I had already been to Germany previously as a soldier spending a total of six years there3 years in Schweinfurt and another 3 years in Bad Kreuznach. I knew enough about the German people to say that they've always been a gracious and welcoming people.
None the less, it was a pleasant experience and hope to revisit the city sometime in the near future.

Lovely church with quite an atmosphere about it. Was bomb damaged during the war and the bells still lay where they fell. Fascinating clock too. Everywhere you look there is something interesting. Outside, on a stone is a devil statue.

Lübeck's most famous large brick pointy thing. Some exquisite (and occasionally creepy) carvings. Astronomical clock was hilariously lame (operates each day at noon) and patronisingly imperialist/racist, but such is human history for you.

Interesting clock, see it at noon! Impression may also have been enhanced by the choral performance that was on at the time

I love the city of Lubeck. I just spent a week there and it was a wonderful experience. The church is exquisite in and of itself, but it is one of many sites. Architecture, history, the people, the food (yes, the food) - all just wonderful. My work takes me there, and I look forward to the next trip.
