Not my cup of tea. A little too snooty, a few Euros too expensive. Don't get me wrong, they make good drinks. But it's not my kinda place.

God, this is a really hard review to write. Yes, the cocktails are truly top-notch, but i've never felt so uncomfortable and judged at an establishment that is upscale (or at least trying way too hard to be).
Pro tip (true story):
1.) The front door will deny you entrance without prior reservations, they're "completely booked" even though it's 1:30am, the weather is awful, and no one's around.
2.) Don't panic- just go around the corner, call the bar, and you'll find out you can swing by, but it's "standing room only."
3.) The guy in the velvet jacket who just denied you 2 minutes ago will be bound by his honor code to let you in when you come back and tell him you know there's standing room, but will be visibly annoyed, like a bridge troll who just endured someone solving his riddle required to pass.
4.) When you're in, there will actually be plenty of seating room- they just like to turn people away to seem exclusive.
5.) Order a drink to celebrate defeating the door dragon.

The Le Lion is over.
The bar keepers are snobbish and arrogant, not because they could afford it, but because they act like it. You like being attended by staff that has a stick up their butt? Then the Le Lion is your place to go. However, this kills the atmosphere for me really, which feels like plastic. But if you share such attitudes, it's probably one of the best places in Hamburg to have a great cocktail, comparable to those I had in Manhattan. In the end, you will find yourself trapped between great cocktails and an arrogant, sometimes making-fun-of vibe at the bar. They make a quite bad and way too sweet Whisky Sour, but an awesome Penicillin.response / report this review -

I have been missing London so badly and then I went to Le Lion Bar. Beautiful London style bar with great people and delicious cocktails. Love the Staff's.

Really good Barkeeper in a very nice atmosphere. The drinks were great and my place directly at the bar was perfect. If you want some really good drinks with friends, you should take them there.

Slightly hidden upscale bar with a great selection of artisanal cocktails. Also offers a broad selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Very knowledgeable barkeepers who are more than happy to offer their advice on new drinks to try.

Wow, a really nice and upscale place, with nice entrance door, and very pleasant and friendly staff. With food to complement the cocktails, pleasant music. I will totally recommend it for a small celebration. There is also another room, where I suppose you should book in advance, and it looks beautiful. The place itself has an atmosphere of a really good place with great service

Outstanding service, complex and well thought out cocktails. Food is very good too, cheese had perfect pairings with variety of fruit jellies and preserves.

Such a great bar, as is obvious with all the 5 star reviews. It is an experience for sure. Quiet room, moody ambience. As an American, I'm easily turned off by all the American pop music played in European restaurants and bars, but I'm sure that makes me an exception. The first cocktail was not my favorite, and I had only planned to stay for one. Luckily, I arrived before my colleague, and was finished before him, so order another, which was more my style and absolutely delicious. Ordered a 3rd and had the same result. Don't hesitate to order off menu.
