Very nice hotel, friendly staff, great Sauna.
The absolute epitome of home away from home.
As a world traveler for both work and pleasure, occasionally I fall into the best of luck. I happened upon this lovingly created and comfortable place to rest my head as a result of one of my Silicon Valley colleagues assigned to Hotel Hachinger Hof. I was in Vienna, my Birthday was approaching and he invited me to join him (we are ONLY friends).
Where do I begin to describe - OK, lets start with the family that owns Hachinger and the beautiful employees assigned to be there for guests and they certainly are. One of the sons was working the front desk that Saturday when this California girl arrived. He was kind and considerate offering me what was to be the best cappucino I'd ever tasted (and I really don't think I paid for that!) Then those apples in the beautiful basket near the front desk - OK I took 2! They were not grown with chemicals and tasteless, yet tasted more like an apple in a streudel piping with taste.
Then I get into the room - a recently remodeled room with a delightful door leading to an open field (well field as it relates to what we dream of in San Francisco) - It was as if I was resting there with my own back yard. It had rained a bit the night before; however in a pattern of "customer first" I felt no mosquitos using my ankles as an appetizer!
OK, so this is the funny part and ended up being the glorious part! After settling in I went back to the front desk and asked if I could understand why my key would not open the door marked "SPA", to wit the son on duty responded, allow me 30 minutes and the spa will be ready, and I leave the door ajar so just go down after that. OK, Ill go along with that. Little did I realize the treat that was in store for me. There was this small unassuming steam room - I don't know the brand but it was absolutely the best steam room I've ever experience - the steam felt like clouds of softly water-infused air delicately detoxing my wine infused body from the night before! Then there was the cobalt blue foot soak - beautiful and so spot on perfect with the teak bench. I think I went between steam and foot soak for about an hour before the prune like condition of my skin insisted I break!
Back at the hotel the next morning came Breakfast. Breakfast with absolutely amazing small bouquets of flowers on each table, that coffee again, and then this offering of tea from a Munich tea company called, Dallmayr. It is perfume packaged as tea and that it is! And this liverwurst - now don't get your brows furled - this is liverwurst like Ive never tasted before. It was a cross between pate and the best potpourri of spices ever imagined. And of course somewhere in the village made this - and I got to eat it! Simply delicious and just alone - not even on bread just a piece of liverwurst on a plate and AMAZING!
Oh, I could continue about finding my home in this village a quick distance outside of busy Munich, but one last comment: I had returned from my own meeting on Tuesday and had wanted some wine and a quiet place to sit and wait for some blokes from England to come and tell me all their rugby stories. One of the Mum of the boys of the family that owns this home away from home comes to me and says, what do you want and I said, "can you select a nice dry Riesling - perhaps something local" well you know the rest of the story, something amazing in a beautiful probably hand blown glass arrived without hesitation and it was not the only glass I drank that night!!!!
Whether you are traveling to Munich for business or as a family, or as a single person like me - this location is like coming home and I adore everyone I met there. I will go back there forever - yes I could maybe get some fancy hotel in the middle of Munich, but I would have missed all of this. Thank you for the spark in my travels you gave me during my stay. I will never forget all the details you cover to make your home my home!
Until I see you again -
Service and smiles.
But the rooms are too warm and humid
Nice hotel for business visitors and tourists. Good breakfast variety. Awesome lunch and dinner options with finger-licking food! I stayed here for 3 days on a business visit and loved the experience !
Service is great, the Room was nice and clean, it is a very nice Hotel
Really lovely food. Very genuine. The rooms and showers are nice and if I were picking nits I'd like a slightly more comfortable chair on the room.
I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
I'd stay here anytime
Nice cheap hotel
I stayed at Hachinger Hof for 5 nights in April, 2008 - and I was very pleased. The Hotel itself makes you feel so at home, the exterior, interior and staff is wonderful. The kitchen is of very high quality - the breakfast buffet in the morning made ME get up earlier than normal! The dinners at night impressed me, the quality is superb. As for the rooms, the beds and comforters/pillows are of the highest quality. Basically, this hotel is very highly recommended.
