Excellent location in Oberammergau and the staff was excellent. A very nice room with a balcony. The Hotel restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was perfect. Would stay there again !

Great staff -- friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Room decor little dated. Sofa bed uncomfortable. Very good breakfast. Bathtub/shower extremely tall and difficult/unsafe to use.

Really nice traditional hotel in lovely position in the village. Lovely food in the restaurant and at breakfast. Only downside was no air conditioning and we stayed on a very hot night. Would love to return some time.

This should have been a lovely stop over. The web page and Google Street view looked good. Reception and parking was very good. The room description on the web did not live up to what we actually got, The room was in the annex overlooking the car and coach park at the back of the hotel. The room was "tired" and on two levels; the upper level was a loft.
Breakfast tables were not cleared after a tour group departed and service at dinner was very slow.

The ALTE POST is a lovely place to stay. The location is excellent for walking the village, plus the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included with out stay. There were many options to choose! Also, try the restaurant for dinner. We loved our meal and the service was fast and gracious.

Overall positive experience. Excellent breakfast, good location, nice room. Only problem I have experienced is that heating was off during night time, but works in the morning and during day time. Might use again.

I love Oberammergau and the Hotel Alte Post has the perfect location in the middle of the village. Our bedroom had a view of the town square with the stunning mountains in the background. The room was clean, comfortable, modern but with Bavarian charm. The staff was courteous and spoke excellent English. The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the view from the breakfast dining room was stunning. If you only visit one German village in your life, Oberammergau is hard to beat.

Right in the middle of town, but not noisy. Restaurant meal for group was good, with several choices. Room clean and spacious, #103 overlooks a good view of the downtown area and mountains in background. Wifi is dicey in the restaurant but OK in the room.

Nice size room, clean and with a lot of closet space. Breakfast is pretty normal but taste well. WiFi is fast and reliable. The hotel is very centrally located.
