We’ve been here during our visit in Dresden’s Christmas markets.
It is a really nice church with interesting and sad history.
I can recommend the visit to everybody.
This is one of the most impressive buildings I have seen in Europe! After the big cathedral in Berlin This whole area of Dresden is very nice. There is a strange feeling in the city, a sense of calm and chilled vibes. This part of the city has kept its old roots even with the buildings looking old.
The church is a very beautiful example of Protestant sacred architecture, having one of the largest domes in Europe.
Built in the 18th century, the church was destroyed in the British/American carpet bombing of Dresden during World War II. The remaining ruins were left for 50 years as a war memorial. The church was rebuilt starting in 1994. The reconstruction of its exterior was completed in 2004, and the interior in 2005.
Another Dresden must see. The tower is well worth the ascent as it really is the best view of the city. Very friendly staff with great advice and the leaflet you get is also very nice as it is a panorama with all major points named.
Beautiful and historic baroque church. It's one of the can't-miss sites if Dresden's old city, rebuilt after the war to its full former glory.
The climb to the top is well worth the time.
I'm Muslim and i love the Frauenkirche, that's beautiful i hope i'll visit there soon greet from Indonesia 🇮🇩
It is a beautiful church with very light colour in the inside. The few from the top was amazing but beware of some very deep and narrow steps
The Frauenkirche was much more impressive when I first saw it in 1991 as a heap of debris and rubble and as such as a really vivid warning against war. Now it surely is nicely rebuilt and I do admire the technical achievements which allowed it to do so, but now that I have seen it in its rebuilt state I feel that it should not have been done. Inside it looks like what it is: a new building, which only resembles the original. As such, it just fully lost its warning potential to mankind which it had before in its destroyed state.
What a view! Pay €8 to go upstairs with an elevator and walk the last part up. Very nice.
Not for wheelchairs I'm afraid 👎🏻
The church's architecture is beautiful, but, the visit experience was completely arbitrary.
We are English speaking tourists, the church was open for public visiting at 11:55. We got inside, and walked a bit. But we got locked in at 12pm. We couldn't go out of the church.
They closed the doors and didn't let us out even after asking people of the church.
