There is a complete bit*h who keeps hanging up on people after telling them to go to the website--as you can see by all the same comments about her. Not every piece of info is on the website. This lady needs to be fired. I've been trying to get to someone else for days and no replies to my emails. She is complete trash. FIRE THE RECEPTIONIST.

I called 3 times to ask whether or not the embassy is open for a short visit, the operator was soooo impolite, first she couldn't talk english and i had the impression that she even didn't go to A1 english course, btw she was angry why i am calling and want to visit the US embassy if i wanted visit her home!!!! she hung up 3 times and didn't answer. she said today is kafreitag, i told her that it is exactly the reason i am calling and want to know whether the embassy is open or not bc in US website is written " die öffnungszeiten können abweichen ". she hung up again. i even told her the third time plz don't hung up but she did. US embassy have to know it is shameful and far from human values.

Please note! NO BAGS are allowed inside, despite of the information one receives when applying for VISA. On the confirmation document it says you are not allowed to bring big bags or backpacks. But even if you have a small purse you won't be let in, and you have to leave it in a kiosk at the U-bahn station (2€ charge). Would be nice to know it in advance.

The service that i was treated with when i attended this establishment was very uneasy, i was verbally abused. There was a foul stench. 1/10 would not go to again.

Absolutely unhelpful, unfriendly. I wanted to enquire about a VISA, I was uncertain which VISA I need. She told me I will find all the information online and she is not a telfon information service and hang up on me.

If you want consular services, go to the Clayallee building. The Embassy is a great stop if you are planning a group trip from the USA. If you plan in advance you can get a very good talk on US-German relations. Again, this is not where Americans get services.
