  Our child was in July 2022 for the French camp in Antibes on the Horticol and Leonardo de Vinci campuses.
  To give other parents a clearer picture of what they are booking for their children before booking, I am writing down some of our experiences here.
  
  The buildings:
  On both campuses, the buildings are, to put it politely, aging and very poorly maintained.
  In particular, our child did not discover the cheerfully furnished, yellow-painted room that can be seen on the CIA website, but only toilets without toilet seats, missing ceiling panels and dirt everywhere.
  
  Now to the subject of “friendly teamers”
  The people named Teamer on the CIA website are in reality always harried and sparsely communicating watchdogs whose main task is to consistently enforce the house rules. Whatever they do.
  
  The concept:
  The statement "Access to the rooms depends on the schedule posted on the campus." means that the rooms are locked so that the children are not in them.
  This is intended to promote communication and is understandable up to a certain point during the day.
  However, the fact that the children are not even allowed into the room after school to get sunscreen or bathing suits seems borderline.
  What interferes with the children's self-determination in an unacceptable manner is the evening lock-out from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Many children then sit outside and wait for them to go to sleep. Because you wake up at 7 a.m. in the morning.
  
  Don't be fooled by the photo of the kids happily jumping into the pool.
  The statement "Pool use is subject to the schedule on display on campus/residence, and is used under supervision." means that the children can only use the pool if supervision is provided and at certain times. This is usually not the case after 7 p.m. The inflatable pool, which is not very large anyway, is often dirty. Unauthorized use will be severely punished.
  
  The French course:
  On request, a modern concept was described to us verbosely.
  However, our child, who has been taking French lessons at school for 2 years, has found that playing Uno and listening to music does not teach him much. At least one lesson was completely canceled.
  A few hours were instructive.
  
  Communication with CIA Antibes via dialogue trips
  Apparently, there are well-trained public relations people at the CIA Antibes who gloss over the grievances we have named and use the finest rhetoric to describe them as concepts, errors or exceptions. Dialog Reisen only passes on this information and is of little help.
