I'm surprised this got such a race review in the Guardian - the municipal pool is incredible, but the rest of the site is pretty average. It's a nice enough location but seriously crowded. The restaurant was not great and the "playground" is basically a slide.

Peaceful campsite. Great location for exploring the area. Freibad next door is great for cooling off on hot days.

We had a really good time here. The pool is off site but excellent for all ages with playthings for toddlers and diving boards for the teenagers. Our kids loved the stream which runs around the site. Only one toilet block but it was always clean. The shop was small but you are surrounded by bigger shops so it does what a site shop needs to, staff were very friendly. The location was excellent with loads of great days out, visit the nearby toboggan run and bear park. Agreed with other reviews some of the rentals are very crammed one particular uk holiday companies were the worst. Overall if you don't want lots of facilities its the site for you.

Platz ist nett und ruhig. Es gibt alles was man braucht.

Toller Campingplatz sehr Familien orientiert Natur Pur. Hunde kein Problem.

This was one of our favourite sites on a month long camping trip around Europe. There's free use of an excellent swimming pool next door, that has a big sandpit and one of the best paddling areas I've ever seen (plus diving platforms for big kids). The pool has a large grass area surrounding it, perfect for relaxing in the sun or shade on a hot summers day. The site also gave us a free pass for the buses and trains across the Black Forest! This is a great idea and there's a train station close by - I would recommend a trip to Freiburg if you have the time. There's also traffic free cycle paths leaving the site and the local roads are very quiet. The nearby town is very cute and olde worlde - nice for a potter around.
The campsite staff were all very friendly and spoke excellent English. There's a small biergarten and restaurant next to the playground and the shop sells fresh bread and pretzels every morning. The showerblock was clean and there were proper showers with good pressure and plenty of hot water. Given that it was only €35 a night in August for a family of four in a motorhome with electricity we felt it was excellent value. Our only small complaint was that they don't take card which was quite inconvenient.
