Charming place, huge portions of tasty food. You can ask for take-away, didn’t do it but I saw the nearby table of locals doing it. If you don’t have a reservation expect some waiting time, you can do it there over a beer or take a walk in the neighborhood. Expect sharing the table with friendly locals as well.

This place is amazing. The schnitzel is, of course, brilliant, the atmosphere lively, and the service was very attentive and helpful - our group didn't speak German, but this wasn't an issue at all. We arrived without a reservation, but they took my name and said come back in 45 mins which we did, and it worked out perfectly. It was well worth the wait

This is a great place to come and enjoy some schnitzel as a tourist. The portions are huge and the price is right. Great service, too!

Busy, bustling, serving Kölsch and schnitzel menu, but wiener schnitzel and the real thing. I bit pricey, but really fantastic in exchange, yet I've still had turkish plates that were 50% cheaper. Avg cost per person including drink - 20 euro.

Bei Oma Kleinmann’s restaurant is the hidden jewel of Köln! It may not look like much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. Not only was the schnitzel amazing, but our server (Gunnar) was absolutely top-notch! We had an incredible time and tipped over 50%, it was that good!!! You can’t go wrong with home cooked meals, generous portions, an endless supply of ice-cold Kölsch and great atmosphere! Of all the places we dined at while in Germany, this was one of the few where staff, more than just Gunnar, actually came to our table to ask how everything was (in Canada we call that a quality check, now sure what it is referred to elsewhere). It was also great to learn about the history of Oma “Paula” Kleinmann which you can see throughout the restaurant. If we’re ever in Köln again, this is one place we’ll certainly re-visit and will whole-heartedly recommend to others as well! Thank you Gunnar and staff for an amazing and memorable experience! Amazing schnitzel! Very much feels like an authentic and old German restaurant. Highly recommended!

If you don't have a reservation, this place fills up quickly, so you may want to get there close to 17.00, when they open.

Staff was too overloaded to pay attention to us. Online booking system doesn't work and staff didn't apologize of the inconvenience and answer they were too busy to call us when a table would be free.

This place is really really popular. We were offered to eat at the bar which save us from waiting. The schnitzels are massive and I would recommend sharing one and getting a few sides first! I did feel it was a little on the pricier side.

2nd time in koln and grateful to have stepped a foot here! The friendliest staff among the tastiest schnitzels with delicious gravies of all sorts. Yummy!
