Good beer and nice atmosphere. Really big and nice outdoor area. In summer it looks like a great place to have a beer.
If you have a drink make sure to check out the old storage for the wood barrels. The entry is next to the restrooms und goes down way farther than you would think. Nice cavern which also serves as a bar and restaurant. ( There is also an elevator to go down, but the narrow stair is kinda cool)
Recommended to me by a friend, this is a must see beer garden in Munich. The waitress was friendly and helpful in selecting a delicious meal, the beer was nourishing, and the environment was Bavaria at it's finest. It might have been my favorite place and meal while in Munich. Would highly recommend and am looking forward to going back the next time I am in Munich.
This spot was recommended to us by friends and did not disappoint. The service was good (multilingual staff was a nice bonus for us), and the food/beer was outstanding. It has more of an intimate feel than other beer halls, which was just perfect for our mood that night. A little too cold to eat outside, but in warmer months the beer garden looked like a great option as well.
The place was recommended by our guide as a place where locals go for delicious, sturdy German food. We were not disappointed. The food and it's namesake bier was outstanding. Our waitress was adorable. The host and the rest of the staff were genuinely rude, almost boorish. The experience was greatly diminished.
This may be one of the most beautiful beer garden of all time. It's a classic. The service was fine, but the beer was solid and the food was great. I would absolutely love to see this place when it's near to its 7000 person capacity singing drinking songs. Can't wait to go back.
Came here one really hot night in Summer and the place was rammed. Struggled to find a table but the atmosphere was sensational. There was a traditional band playing on the band stand. Beer and Pretzels everywhere. We ended up getting some food from the bar as the restaurant was booked out. It was all basic stuff, roast chicken, pork and the like but it was good. Ended up coming back the second night and a fish place had set up selling charcoal grill fish which was amazing. You really have to experience this place when it is packed full of people. Loads of trees for shade so it is great in summer. There is even a kids playground to keep the little ones amused.
I'm not a big beer drinker or meat eater but I enjoyed it here and managed to eat and drink fine. Big beer hall. Waiters are amazing, running around the place. Fast service. Can attract big crowds 🍺
Okay, it's a bit touristy, but not as much as other places. Many tourists don't find this particular restaurant. They have an amazing Beer Keller. Great beer garden outdoors. I really like Augustiner beer. The food was decent. Prices were not outrageous. Overall our group had a good time at this restaurant.
Stayed for a night in Munich before my flight. The hotel receptionist advised us to visit this as a place where locals go to eat.
I was not disappointed! The beer is exceptional and the food is great. Service was good also. I would defiantly come again on my next visit to Munich.
Sitting inside a centuries-old cellar buried deep under the earth, giant kegs as your drinking companions, is such a cool Bavarian experience! But whether intentional or not, the service here waivers between grumpy and just plain rude. The beer is exceptional, however, and the food serviceable, so we return from time to time to soak in the history.
Tip: Try not to get seated in the small dining areas closest to the kitchen when you are in the cellar. Those rooms get incredibly hot.
