After the renovation the ground floor makes an impression of an empty hall.

Perfect for luxurious shopping. The shop has all the main brands and some of the designer brands. Negative: expensive parking 4euro/h with very,very small parking slots and a weird system with stop light and you can stay even 15-20 min just to go up or down the levels.

I have to say I really like Hamburg's Alsterhaus. Sure it's a bit posh and some clothes are very not something I'd buy, but the ground floor section of toiletries is great and the top floor offers champagne bars, an excellent sushi place, and equally good burger and steak place. Reasonably priced as well. The parking sucks and is like 5€ per hour or so.

Very nice smaller version of KaDeWe with a great staff. Definitely have a bite to eat or sip a glass of Veuve Cliquot on the top level. Great buffet restaurant at the top with views of the Alster.

After a much needed remodel, the Alster Haus is on its way to become a top tier department store, similar to the likes of Harrods. Besides offering a host of designer stores within its entry hall, this location has a fine foods department on its upper floor, ideal for lunch or picking up epicurean delights. Would recommend this emblematic hamburg establishment for all those who enjoy high end shopping in one convenient location.

Great international Department Store - like all the other great DSs. After the refurbishing the eating facilities have improved greatly. Only the original reataurant is still there in it oldish style and serves a variety of dishes made at your request like at the Marché autobahn restaurant.

Result: one star missing from my review.

Nice mall with very good location and off course many designer brands. Currently under heavy renovation. You can try the bistro upstairs - lots of food choices at a very reasonable price.
