床虫. Not a friendly atmosphere, lots of people (older Russians) living here amid seeming depressed itinerant tourists. The front door is not, ah, there. Anyone could walk into the rooms as they are often left open anyway. Not very secure. Amenities lacking and not very clean. There are better options nearly anywhere else. Save yourself the trouble and pay an extra euro a night for a better experience.
The place was dirty. Comon area didn't seem like it had been cleaned for a while, the sheets smelt and looked used. I didn't have to show any proof of id to check in and there basicly was no check out. I wasn't given a key during by 2 night stay, the excuse being that the key had broke the very day i arrived. So every time i wanted to get to my room i had to ask the receptionist to let me in, with no need to show proof that i was even staying there making me believe anyone could get in my room if they wanted. The staff were not rude but they weren't exactly friendly. The only positive thing i can say about my stay was that it was quiet. I would only recommend if you are desperate.
I stayed there for two nights, the receptionist was really helpful and polite. His English was good enough to understand each other. The facilities were cleaned, the room too.
For the price you pay, you can't expect a 4 star hotel stay, but I wasn't disapointed at all!
Thank you for everything!
Good location. Good shower and toilets. Great wifi. Confy bed and pillows. Very clean hostel in general. Nice and helpfull staff. Common kitchen for guests to use. I stayed 4 nights in the top floor of the building. The only thing is that it was too hot inside the room and sleeping with the window open brought a lot of noise from the street. I'd definitely go back if I'm in Prague
Cheap stay. Good location, 20 minutes walking distance to the old town square. There is a kitchen. Free towel. Power sockets beside the bed. There is hair dryer too.
I wish the automatic light can be turned on longer. Sometimes it turn off when i was halfway showering. And better there is a small lamp at each bed, my roommate always turn off the lights at 11.30pm which is too early for me. The kitchen is in a mess quite often but this is not their fault.
The beds and location are good. But we had fully booked a room, and somehow the guy at the reception managed to get 2 new people into the room and remove my stuff from my bed. When we pointed out the mistake, they didn't want to help and we had to resolve everything ourselves
The Youth Hostel is a great place to stay due to its location, friendly staff and price-quality ratio. Rooms are clean and cozy. It's very easy to find and easy to get to all main attractions of the city. Besides there is a private parking with good prices. Confidently recommend! And for sure with stay here during next visit.
Sokolska Youth Hostel is a really nice place to stay. Actually one of the best places we stayed within 3 month of travelling. The stuff is awesome and really friendly and helpfull. The kitchen is always clean and good equipped. The rooms are really nice and clean. The reception even let us to use the computer to write home how good this hostel is ;)
Last but not least, I strongly recommend to stay at this hostel, because it's at the very centre of Prague. Will definitely come here again next year!
Terrible service, we booked a room for 8 people months in advance. Had to sleep in 2 rooms for 6 people with strangers. Some weird iranian guy who was calling all the time.
Easy to reach from Florenc. Clean and warm hostel where you can cook and drink (no hard liquor). Smoking is not allowed inside the rooms but they have a garden outside where you can smoke.
The stuff were nice. Rooms are clean. We stayed in the women only room. It was okay. There should be more locks on the lockers. Because in our room there were no locks on the lockers.
It would be nice to have a coffee machine. :-) Just a suggestion
Nice and cozy place. Very near to major attractions of Prague, metro station, Tram station and also the Florence bus station. All things easily accessible.
The hostel is overpriced for what is offering. It looks like is improvised in the attics of the old building. Everything is very cheap, from furniture and interior design to the hygienic products. I stayed in a double bet room that look bigger and better in pictures than in reality.
The location is decent, close to public transportation and 30 minutes walking from the city center.
