We originally chose La Fenice for its proximity to our son's apartment. What a pleasant surprise. It was very quiet, charming and comfortable with big rooms, comfortable beds and the best breakfast of our entire trip. Far enough away from the old town to be quiet and free from tourist crowds and noise, but close enough to walk to Wenceslaus Square. Many good restaurants and shopping near by and right on the tram, bus and subway lines. Also a ten minute walk or two minute cab ride to main railway station.

The hotel looks extremely fancy on the outside and the lobby is decorated similarly. The room was spacious and had a small kitchen with a few plates and cooking appliances. However they were not washed properly and no washing supplies were provided. The wifi in our room was terrible. The only time we had any was downstairs in the lobby. We also had a broken radiator which could not be turned off so the room was always like a sauna. The breakfast had a large variety, ranging from cereal, fruits, toasts, sweets and cooked food. The staff were extremely hospitable and friendly as well

This is a very nice hotel, in a perfect price. The location of the hotel is also perfect, just 100 meters away of metro station. It's clean and the stuff was very helpfull.
The breakfast was good too, although it could have been a little bit better.
Definitely i would stay here again if i visit Prague again in the future.response / report this review -

Lovely clean hotel. Nice period features. Our double room turned out to be a spacious suite. Great variety of lovely fresh food at breakfast. Welcoming reception with pleasant helpful staff. Really good value for the price. Walking distance to all the attractions. Would definitely recommend

The staff at the reception desk were very helpful and it was manned 24/7, they were happy to answer any questions about the city. Breakfast was available from 7-30 till 10-30 so you have a good time range.
The rooms are very big and the beds are comfy, could maybe do with some more pillows but I'm sure we could have asked.
Bathroom was big and the shower was nice and hot and had a shower gel dispenser which was good. Fresh towels and sheets every day it seemed which was nice after a long day.
Only real issue was the cleanliness of the room; under the bed and on the bedside desk and drawers there was a lot of dust and dirt which wasn't very nice to put stuff on.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay again, just think a hoover is needed!response / report this review -

I stayed at La Fenice Hotel 1 night. The room was pleasant and extremally clean, breakfast was ok, but a hotel is not only facilities, but also customer service!
I have never been treated that way in any kind of hotel, hostel or other type of accommodation! To make long story short: in this hotel, except from the reception lady, work only Russians, who do not speak neither English nor Czech – so for foreigners it is problematic to communicate. I know Russian a little bit, but I am not a fluent speaker, nevertheless it didn’t help me, but in contrary it made my position worse because I understood what they were saying.
Before our room was ready we came to the hotel to leave our baggage and to change our clothes after 10 hours travel. The reception lady directed us to the toilet and didn’t have anything against that. When we came in the toilet and turned the lights on there was a complete blackout in the toilet (quite common situation in Prague). I went out to look for someone from the staff, but there was no one around. We decided to do our business as fast as possible using a telephone torch. Suddenly the lady from the staff came into the toilet and started to accuse us that we broke the lights and we are some strangers using their bathroom. I started to explain everything in English, but of course it didn’t help because they did not understood me. The lady went for a support and all of sudden there were 2 Russians yelling at us, so I started to communicate in Russian as clearly as I could. They explained to me (in not civilized way) that if my room was not ready yet, I am not a guest of the hotel and I should leave the bathroom. I told them that I won’t leave the bathroom until I wash my teeth, so the ladies decided to go for a support of another, third Russian lady.
Everything ended up that I was not entitled to wash my teeth, what I was forced to do in the nearest restaurant. I would like to stress that stay in this hotel from 2 PM until 11 AM cost 45,00 EUR, so this is not the cheapest option…response / report this review -

The hotel is in lovely old building and some of the furnishing seem pretty old too, which I liked. The bed was reasonably comfortable although the mattress was a bit too soft for me. The shower head was slightly cracked, resulting in a spray of water in an unexpected direction, but otherwise the bathroom was pretty good. The wifi was hit and miss and needs to be upgraded.
I made my booking online, so the hotel had my full details already. Yet, at check in, I had to fill out a paper form, only for the receptionist to key in my details into her PC. As several other people were checking in at the same time, the whole process took around 15 minutes. Sometimes, little creative thinking could go a long way making everyone's experience more pleasant and enjoyable.response / report this review -

Location is great 10 min with train and you will be in the main squares.

Hotel is so beautiful with its antiques! It is in close proximity to a tram that goes to Old Town Prague and also for walking if you are in "ok" condition (20-25 minute walk downhill! for us ages 69 and 72)
Receptionist can help you with tram tickets!!they are very reasonable!!
The included breakfast buffet is EXCELLENT and highly recommended!!!
The view from the room was great and loved the big old windows which opened to let in fresh air!!
The hotel upgraded our room for free so that we could get easier wifi since we had a pregnant daughter-in-law at home in USA!!!!

Overall great value for money but be warned do not stay in rooms 106 or 206 as you will be above a bar that plays music until 5am weekends where the (loud) music travels through the floors

We paid for three nights but left after one and went to another hotel. The entry way and breakfast area are really nice but the rooms are awful. The mattress is about an inch thick and you can literally feel every spring. Not to mention they are two twin beds pushed together. The blankets weren't even enough to cover my whole body. The rooms are large and very bare feeling. Probably would have been ok if I needed to be cheap but my husband and I were on our honeymoon. So glad we left!!!
