Quite possibly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had - of all time. No information given, no help ever, no fun allowed. Maids don’t clean your room or change your sheets, I had belongings stolen from my room. No room service. No 24 hour alcohol. Literally not a vacation spot, save your money. Go anywhere else.

Large suite/apartment well air conditioned with seperate controls for each room. Inadequate restaurant but ok bar. Nice pool. Close to Beach's and historic areas. Not on beach nor interesting walks. Transportation to good area.kitchen works for us.

I rated this a 1 star because that is as low as allowed. I have traveled for over 50 years and this was the worst. It is in the middle of nowhere. They provide no transportation within the compound. When we arrived at our 3 bedroom villa we had 3 towels, 5 hangers 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper, no cleaning supplies. Our internet didn't work for 2 1/2 days and when that we fixed the phone went out for 4 days. We were supposed to have maid service every day for our 7 day visit and they came 3 times. You pay for the entire reservation in advance and that is good for them because you can't check out. Our Villa was filled with bugs that seemed impervious to Raid. You eat with paper towels over your food just to keep the bugs away. We had a "private" pool" that was completely in the shade, extremely cold and in the middle of bug heaven. Oh, one final little matter: You aren't to put your used toilet paper in the toilet but in a can next to the toilet.

Only stayed for a few days and while the staff was very nice and friendly the rooms weren't great. Really nice sized room and bathroom but then they put extremely tiny beds in there. What's worse is the size of the shower. Nice big bathroom but then only a tiny corner is reserved for the shower. It wasn't ideal.

I recently stayed at this hotel for two weeks. The hotel is beautiful but I was not impressed with the service received. I traveled alone so I chose one of their single rooms which was smaller compared to most of the rooms. I found the hotel to be a bit pricey for the service they provide. As a matter of fact, I feel that I paid for the room only and not the service. Let me explain. As I said before, I stayed at this hotel for two weeks. Day five into my stay, my bed linens have not been replaced. They were only replaced the next day because I stripped the bed. As a matter of fact during my two weeks stay, by bed linens were replaced twice and only because I stripped the bedding twice. There is no consistency with how housekeeping perform. Cleaning happens during any time of the day, so I never knew wether to sleep in or leave the room for them to come in. When they do clean, the cleaning is done haphazardly, often times missing important areas such a s the toilet that doesn't get flushed or scrubbed. They are also very inconsistent with the towels they provide guests in the room. Sometimes they provide you with face towels, but most of the time there wasn't any in my room. What bothered me the most was when I returned to my room and found that a dirty towel that I put on the floor to be washed and replaced, was folded and put back on the rack. I had to go to the front desk to request another towel of which they had none. Toiletries are not replaced such as hand soap if you yourself, the guest, do not throw away what is left of the previous soap. This is what the hotel manager told me when I complained to her. I felt that my safety was in jeopardy when one night as I was getting ready to go in the shower, and the door to my room suddenly was opened and I heard the voice of a maintenance man entering my room. I told him to leave my room immediately, and later learned from him that they told him the room was vacant and some work needed to be done in it. From that time on, I slept with the light on fearing that anyone could again enter my room. There are appliances such as a toaster and a coffee pot in the room on the counter, but I wasn't able to use them because there wasn't an outlet in sight to plug them in. They provide you with dishes, glasses and utensil, but nowhere to wash them except in the bathroom sink. By the way, I had dirty dishes in my room for two weeks, and not once were they washed or replaced for clean ones. To top it all off, the day before I was to check out, housekeeping came to clean my room and told me that check out time was at noon. I told them that I wasn't checking out until the following day. Next I had the manager coming to my room to tell me the same thing. I had to show them my email confirmation that I received from them confirming my checkout date. Because of my experience in this hotel, I will never return again nor will I ever recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is actually beautiful, but the service is the worst thing I experienced in my life. I would stay at a Quality Inn before thinking about staying in this hotel.

Acoya allows locals to party on the hotel ground (at poolside / in their houses // AT DAY AND NIGHT). We had more than 10 calls regarding this subject and for 2 days nothing happened. At day 3 they moved us to another apartment to avoid more complaining and to eventually keep us quiet. Party / birthday noises, yelling, shouting and extremly loud music (AND FOREIGN CARS ON HOTEL GROUND IN THE NIGHT - WHAT ABOUT SAFETY?!) continued. The staff (especially the front desk staff) was unable to solve this problems and it seemed they're not really trying. Sometimes they were unfriendly, too, which sums up to a very unprofessional impression.
House / apartment were in a "used" condition (several damages in bath / living room / bedroom / kitchen // dirt and stains in corners / on tables / in the kitchen (just look at the lamps)) and they don't clean up every day. Used towels remained in our house for more than 2 days, bed linen for more than 3 days. Last but not least we got an email before our trip. It says that there'll be a discount of 25% for everything we eat and drink at the bar / the restaurant. At checkout I HAD TO MENTION this email (sent from the management itself) to get that discount. Which is an effrontery. The hotel isn't that far from everything, but you shouldn't imagine that you're able to walk anywhere in that heat. So there's a shuttle to the Mambo Beach Blvd. and the city (9am / 2pm return) and a shuttle to the supermarket (Vreudgenhill / 10am / 11am return // 4pm / 5pm return). For anything else - try to catch a "minibus" (the one with several destinations behind their windshield) for a few bucks of their own currency. The breakfast was boring and stood the same for 14 days (!!). Ain't worth it.

If you're planning to go there - we would not recommend this hotel. You may try PIETERMAII DISTRICT with its lovely apartments and great bars / restaurants. There's no beach nearby, but at least you may have a great stay.

The amenities are excellent and the property is by far the best, however, everything shuts down at 11:00 PM. Granted, we vacationed during the month of September, but the resort only hosted a BBQ. Nothing after that. If you're looking for some night life you won't find it here. Didn't care to much for the two twin bed passed off as King Size bed either.

I loved to be here. It is a nice resort & the villa was super big.

There were a few things that were not the same as advertised, so that is why I am putting only 3 stars. I think that you can start advertising things when they are finally there and not if they are still under construction..

From the 8th till the 16th of februari we had a 4 room villa, and it was great!!! Every day clean towels, and a clean villa! Very friendly staff! Restaurant is oke, 1/2 hour massage and 1/2 hour diving lessons for free, for 4 persons!!! It was that i knew it, because nobody at the reception told us. So ask for it when you check-in for the voucher, and make a appointment during the week. The Swimmingpool at the villa was SUPERB!❤ Breakfast is very diminutive! The location of Acoya is not in the best part of Curaçao!!! If you like a quiet hotel i advise you to book Acoya! We absolutely loved villa 1097❤

    Amazing hotel
(Let me start the review saying that this has already been postef on trip adviser on December 9th 2014, but my opinion hasn't changed)

Even though I'm a local, I gave this new hotel a visit in the weekend 7 December 2014 and this is easily one of the best places to stay if you're on a trip to this island. Friendly people good food and it's very central, so it's not that far from the Capital! They just opened and they are still in renovating process but most of the rooms are clean and the service is impeccable :)
    Helpful

2017 update: this hotel is one of the most innovative, fresh, clean resorts you'll have on the island, and it's highly recommended to stay here if you need a luxury feeling resort pretty much centered and not too far from town.

Rooms were clean. Property clean. Restaurant slow as molasses but island time is different I guess. Car rental required to get out and about without having to rely on their shuttle service. Plus one needs to visit the whole island anyways when in Curaçao.

We only used the hotel for sleeping & breakfast, didn't use the extra facilities so my review will only be based on the room & breakfast we had + general impression of the looks.
Our standard room was spatious and looked very nice decoration wise. Same story with the bathroom: the walk-in rain shower is to die for. This type of room has a lot of bang for the buck compared to other hotels I've been to. We even had our own parking spot right in front of our room!
The breakfast was nicely presented but didn't have much variety. Not a problem as this is usually like this in hotels. The taste was good and everything was fresh, which is the most important.
The infinity pool looks nice, everything in & around the hotel was very clean and the staff tries their very best to keep guests happy. The location is bad if you plan to walk out of your room straight onto the beach. If you have a car, the hotel location couldn't be better: very close to everything (10min to Waaigatplein, 5min to Mambo Beach, 20min to Jan Thiel). Due to the location, when you want to travel West, traffic is not an issue.
