I must say after reading some bad reviews; their refurbishment has made a vast difference, I have found none of the bad points made in other reviews.

Very friendly staff, excellent food choices; with 2 specialty restraints (Grill & Italian), clean specious rooms, loads of sun beds, all inclusive including the speciality restraints, and surprisingly fairly good wifi in all areas of the complex including all room's.

My only negative is the shower in the room has a fixed height for the hose, the wife being jus under 5ft is unable to reach it, but once given to her has to put it on the floor between washing, it could do with a second holder at a lower height.

That said this has been one of the best resorts we have stayed at in year's, definitely worth a visit, I will post more pictures soon.

Staff welcoming, clean well maintained gardens. Food no complaints, clean room expect towels need a good boil or change colour. Tui reps very helpful. Pools cold could be heated.

The hotel is gigantic and a bit of a maze. Entertainment is awesome. Main restaurant is poorly laid out and a mix between under and overcooked food. Best to stand in line for the fresh cooked food although the lines can be long and elbows have been known to be involved.

Lots of restaurants outside the hotel if you're willing to look.

What an absolutely amazing holiday at Sol Dunas, we had a upgraded room, so instead of myself and 2 sisters sharing a room, we had a suite with 2 bedrooms a kitchen/lounge, 2 bathrooms, and 2 balconies.
The beech is to die for, white sand like talcum powder, beech bar, and a pier you can walk down.
The food, wow what can I say, every thing you could think of, all cooked to perfection, to many different meats, fish, pasta to name one by one, deserts to die for.
I cannot praise this resort enough, perfection that’s all I can say.
I for 1 will definitely be re visiting and only a 6 hour flight.
Would highly recommend this resort to anyone and everyone.
Thank you so much, for a beautiful week. My sister booked this as a surprise, to get me away for a while, as I have recently lost my husband.

Very nice hotel and we'll maintained. The island is very windy. I would recommend taking sunlounger goal legs to keep it in place.

Sal is a beautiful island, with mesmerizing crystal clear water. The food is great, the staff was helpful and the locals are friendly although very pushy when they know you're a tourist. The major downside of this island is that their natural resources are sparse. For example, there was no milk for a couple of days. The island has some very interesting activities, such as observations of sharks and boat rides to other islands, but in reality the island is pretty empty and you can go from one end to the other without seeing anyone. Tourism is clearly their business as there is plenty of 4/5 star hotels along the beaches. The weather is amazing for those who like hot and humid and the sky is mostly clear with beautiful light all throughout the day. If you go on an all-inclusive holiday, the drinks were very good (especially the alcoholic ones) when compared to other all-inclusive holidays I've been! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely go back.

Well kept garden areas. Clean and fresh rooms. Food hot and plenty to choose from.
Bed could do with having a better quality matress. Staff have been all pleasant and polite

Nice hotel and we have been here twice now. Will not come again though as the food is really awful. The same everyday. Never any lamb or beef just pork and fish. The buffet restaurant is badly designed, too long and thin, ridiculous. Do not entertain any of the excursions, there is nothing worth seeing except perhaps the salt Lake. Good setting for a mad max sequel, absolutely Baron.

The resort is beautiful but there is a lot left that can be improved. Food is average at best. Customer service doesn't exist staff are incredibly unfriendly and don't seem to want to help with any issues. Also problems with infrastructure meant power went out a couple of times.

We stayed for a week here at the beginning of November 2017. Our room was nice and big and very clean. The only downside was that we overlooked the main road too and from the hotel, a builders yard. Our room was close to two of the pools and the main restaurant. If you do not like walking very far, this hotel is not for you. You have to walk through the grounds of the sister hotel to reach the beach which is lovely and if you go the right time of year you may be lucky too see loggerhead turtles hatching. There is a good choice of places to eat in the hotel, but you have to pay a supplement to eat in some of them.

currently staying here. weather is great hottest for 9 years. suitably turned lobster pink. the facilities are very good overall. ideal for families with children. with several pools. the rooms are much better than we expected well maintained throughout our stay by welcoming friendly staff. we requested extra pillows and a kettle which we received without delay. so why not a five star review ? a couple of let downs. the food is ok although there does seem to be a lack of 'kids food ' by which I mean pizza. nuggets etc although in my opinion not a real drama if you are used to cooking the same food at home for you and the children. if not then you may not be satisfied with the options. I found something to eat everyday although I think there is a wide selection of products disappointingly there is a lack of quality. you end up with some odd combinations on your plate. but there is no chance of starving.
my other small grumble is the lack of activities for a 15 year old boy. the club seems ok but my son seems just to hang out on his phone. no real interaction with staff. although he is a 15 year old boy so perhaps I am asking to much.
would I return, No, but the world is to small and I have yet to find anywhere I would return to. have a nice holiday.

I had read lots of reviews about the hotel and have to say all the negative ones about the Spice restaurant were unfounded. The food was always hot and if I had to give a negative it us that there was only one drink station open.
After an 8 hour delay we arrived to find that the hotel had put on a small buffet service for those of us that had just checked in.

We had booked a one bedroom apartment but had faulty aircon. We were offered a new room and had to accept a downgrade to have working aircon. Our rep simply said that they were struggling with availability.

Staying in the Sol Dunas you are a distance from the beach but you have access to 3 large pools all with their own bars and there are regular golf buggy shuttle runs between all areas.

The beach and sea is amazing but I would advise that you swim within the man made cove as there are no rocks and the water is sheltered.

Would I come back again? Yes, most definitely.

The rooms are more like 5 star suites and the resort overall is large very clean and not excessively busy. They have the standard problem of people 'reserving' sun beds with towels, but there are more beds than people so you can always find one somewhere. The ones on the beach are normally least busy. Food is fine, it is a decent all inclusive type. Can be excessive queues at the non-buffet restaurants but just avoid them when they are busy. The sun is extremely strong here, even when it is cloudy and while the constant breeze makes it pleasant it is very easy to get burned so top up the high factor frequently. It is only a small island so it's easy to see it all in a day, but the resort should be ideal for those with smaller children. Enjoyed it even with a grumpy teen ;-)

Lovely ambience 2 a la carte restaurants 7 pools and bars although no kids they are brilliantly catered for in a large dry play area based on a massive galleon a kid's paddling pool with lots of water based fun and an older kids water park.

My wife was sick for 11 days of the 12 days. Through its meningitis she has hardly been out of the room. With this reason also asked for a late checkout. Without any effort, I was told that it was not possible because the hotel would be "full". Online I could still book rooms and the dining room was filled up to 1/3. Terrible service!
