Nice hotel. Nice friendly staff. Stunning beach. Not 5 star though. I am not a fan of having to do things like queue for breakfast or get up early to secure loungers by the beach/pool. That was sadly the case, as the hotel was too busy. Food selection was not great for dinner in the main restaurant. More variation needed. This is not a negative review though. We had a nice time but we don't believe this is a 5 star experience.

This Hotel is situated almost on the beach.Beautiful spacious rooms,with fridge tea coffee facilities,Iron/board.Fabulous bathroom with a huge bath. .Good selection for breakfast ,English and continental.Good outside sun beds (few more brollies please) lovely pool,with little channel /splash pool for the children .The staff are polite and well trained to care for you during your stay .

My husband and I stayed here on the 5th Feb 2022 for a week. What a fantastic place to stay. The staff were a delight,the rooms were exceptional. The breakfast catered for every taste. Only down side you couldn't exchange money for euros had to be in local currency only. Would we come and stay again? definitely. I forgot to mention the young lady and gentleman in the spa were absolutely worth every penny. 😍

If you demand and expect a lot from a holiday accommodation this is the place to go.
Very well developed facilities of the site - shops, a gym, a spa studio, a restaurant.
Spacious, high quality rooms with private space in a well maintained garden. Bathrooms with an open bath to enjoy the garden/sea views. The bathrooms with both a bath and a shower.
The hotel itself is a great composition of a building and nature.
Perhaps the most jaw dropping feature of the place is the garden - very well maintained, very much green and full of exotic plants.
The pools, sun beds - all of these give us a top quality experience.
Friendly, helpful, professional service. These people do their best and do it very well.
Everybody speaks more than communicative English.
A clean and sandy beach just a few steps away from the hotel.
A tiny disappointment with a distance to the hotel restaurant - it's not right at the hotel (100m away), however it offers great views and quality.
The kids-area was sadly shut down at the time we were there.
However, taking everything into consideration - I do highly recommend the place.response / report this review -

My husband Greg and I stayed for 3 weeks in January last month. Our bedroom was beautiful with a sea view & pool view. Spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable beds and excellent room maintenance. We found the breakfast room and outside terrace so warm and embracing from all staff. Great breakfast great menu. We often had dinner in the main restaurant at night which was very good too with a wide range of menu excellent and again great service. We found sometimes staff could be a little slow when ordering coffee in the mornings but it’s holiday time !! The hotel is beautifully set out with gorgeous gardens wrapped around it. Fabulously warm towels for the stunning beach every day with again great service. Highly recommend The Hilton. Congratulations to all. We intend coming back again in January 2023. Thank you again. Great place to relax for a family. Very good buffet breakfast and dinner. Easy access to the beach. The management very professional and helpful. Best decision to choose this hotel. Perfect. Staff wonderful and friendly. Thank you to everyone at this hotel.

Five star hotel with a lot of 3 and 4 star amenities.
5* Pool area and gardens: nice, lots of shade, huge swimming pool, pleasant atmosphere
5* Bar: cozy, friendly staff. Burgers are not worth the money though.
3* Breakfast restaurant: busy at all times. Quality of ingredients, so-so. Nice and attentive staff. Coffee was very good.
Mixed feelings about bedroom: we got a partial seaview. Huge bedroom, nice bathroom. Lots of space to keep your things. Safe. However cockroaches!!!
Reception sent maintenance staff to spray room at our request.
Overall price of beverages and food, European prices, more like Swiss prices, which we found expensive.
The staff was very friendly and helpful though.

Great hotel with absolutely amazing staff! They are really trying to make your stay as nice as possible. If you go there in June it's quite empty so you have a hotel to yourself. Breakfast is really good with a lot of fresh fruit. Hotel's restaurant (The Bounty) it's a bit pricey but food is great.

Truly one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. I believe most reviews here are fake. Don't say you were not warned. The picture below is is of my "ocean view", for which I received the pleasure of both arguing about the entire trip, lied to and cheated. The hotel insisted this was an ocean view, and had no trouble charging me for it.
I requested a quiet room. So, they put me in a room immediately over the bar. The room vibrated and I was woken up. I spent the next night packing and moving my 3 bags (I had a lot of sports equipment with me), to what was promised to be a quiet room. Well, it was not. Music is blasted through the entire property all night long until after 11pm. If you have to be up at 6am for sports, this is not good at all. My room vibrated, I could not sleep, and they would not turn it down.
There were pubic hairs in my bed.
There was a whole in my bed (the platform was not correctly installed so I spent 2 of the nights on the floor).
The staff pretended to want to help but they did nothing.
The icing on the cake was the 1,000 EU + of errors on my invoice at the end. They charged me for a suite. They refused to give me the bill in euros. Only after insisting it was wrong countless times, did they finally correct it.
At the end of the day, I don't expect much. But, I will expect an ocean view when paying for an ocean view, and certainly will expect a quiet and comfortable room with a good bed. This is a bare minimum for a hotel. Now this hotel is charging 5 star prices, so you certainly could expect more. It is very very sad to be lied to, cheated and charged when you have spend a lot of savings for a nice time, and they couldn't even deliver the basics of the view, the bed or a quiet and clean room.
Still, sadly I ended up paying 300 EU a night for a quiet ocean view room, which had no ocean view, was not quiet, and was nothing but stressful.
This hotel is completely mismanaged. Stay away and spend your hard earned money elsewhere, where they care.
To make it worse, I contacted Hilton Corporate once I returned to the US. They agreed to reimburse me partially, which made me feel a little better, but the payment never came. So again, my time was further wasted, only adding more dismay, lies and sadness to what was supposed to be a luxurious and enjoyable stay.
I will never stay at any Hilton anywhere in the world again, I thought it was just this hotel, but I guess it's the brand.response / report this review -

Great resort! Nice room, good food and everything is perfectly clean.
Nice pool, but even better is then place they have on the beach.
They have two restaurants, two pubs and a spa.
10mins walking from the "city center" with a lot of restaurants and pubs.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton hotel - hotel personnel were very friendly and helpful as well as flexible. The room with the terrace was great and the poolside area with the pool bar was perfect! Most of our time was spent at the hotel by the pool. The beach is close by, too, which was great! We had breakfast every day at the Hilton hotel (was part of our deal), and the variety of refreshments and food was amazing, so much fresh fruit and anything from pancakes and müesli to scrambled eggs and baked beans. Bonus for having soy milk! I would definitely stay at this hotel again :)

All the restaurant are open so if it's windy you can not enjoy a meal. I guess you don't have to eat them but you have had it if you booked with bteakfast included then you are stuck with there open space eating especially if the weather is bad. You have a gale blowing through and with no sun it's cold as hell. When you complain to guest services they say they can not do anything if the management does not take any notice. Lots other minor complaints or suggestion to the guest services they get ignored. Not like other Hilton's. I have been to Santa Maria Sal Cape Verde twice every winter for last 10 years and have stayed in various resorts along the beach they all have some enclosed dinning places and if gets really bad and you are outside they provide heaters. Very disappointed. Will never stay here again. People we talked who have come to Cape Verde for the first, this resorts put them off coming to Cape Verde.

Best hotel on the Island with a fantastic breakfast. The rooms as well best quality and outstanding for Island of Sal. Some adjustments has to be done to reach Hilton Standard. But as this only the 3rd months in operation I am confident it will be there soon.

One if the newest and so far the best hotel on the Cape Verde island of Sal is the Hilton Cabo Verde resort. It only opened a few months ago and has a great beach front location. The views are stunning and with right room you overlook both the pool area as well as the beach. The resort is about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport and a 15 minute walk along the beach from the city centre or a couple of minutes in a taxi. The hotel has several bars and restaurants with both local and international cuisines. The breakfast is extensive and has alk you would ever need! There is a full service Spa with an extensive selection of treatments as well as a gym with a good selection of machines and equipment for all types of training needs. As a Hilton elite member you get free extensions to the spa treatments and a free hour with a personal trainer. The courtyard has a big pool with a kids pool on the side, and there is a kids club too. On the beach there is a water sports and diving centre. There is also a casino on the property if you want to try something different. There is also plenty small convenience stores and restaurants close by if you want to try other food than the hotel. The staff are nice and helpful and if you need anything then guest relations are located just off the main staircase. Overall a great hotel with great views over the beach.

Brand new (2017) hotel! Super-nice architecture; it's sort of an indoors-outdoors design. Good little beach bar, fine for evening cocktails listening to the sea. Great beach and warm sea.

Only two months open and all is working like a Swiss clock, mostly due to the super friendly and hard working staff like Juma, Irina, Blanca and so many others that always great you with a sincere smile.
Great location, food, WiFi on the beach and the decors are very refined.

Hotel good, spacious and well furnished in great position on lovely beach and close to local town. Food not so good, buffet dinners have lots of choice but little description of what's what and meat is very dry and tough. Fish naturally is good. Hotel's upmarket a la carte restaurant on the beach has a limited menu and advertised Aberdeen Angus fillet steak was as tough as cheap braising beef and I sent mine back. Didn't try anything else and won't be going back. Partner had prawns which were good but only four on the plate and accompanied by bland rice. Advice in short, stay here but eat out!
