This hotel is wonderful. As a family we are quite fussy. We like to relax and have good food. This hotel delivered. It's a stunning place. Four minutes from the airport but you don't hear any planes. The rooms are lovely, the pools are fantastic, my daughter played in them all the time and my husband loved the swim up bar. The food was amazing. Very good choice and not too much junk food. Lots of salads, fish, chicken, loads to choose from for everyone. The staff were very friendly and I highly recommend a massage at the spa. The beach was beautiful and so relaxing. I'm so glad we came before cape verde gets over run by tourists, so glad we got to see the natural beauty of the island

Lovely place. So clean. Fantastic staff. Only thing I didn't expect was the cloudy weather and strong winds. Didn't take enough cardigans. Just didn't get hot enough to jump in the pool to cool off. I really enjoyed the classes. Aqua aerobics yoga step gym work. Great instructors. Made it really fun. Sea was gorgeous.

Great all inclusive hotel at a reasonable price. All staff were super friendly and very hard working. Rooms are adequate with ample storage. Food is of good quality and regularly restocked. Drinks are average but beer is poor. Hotel is kept spotlessly clean. Overall, a great place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

Nice Hotel, we just wanted a week chilling and that is exactly what we did. Staff outstanding they can't help enough. Food was good you could always find something nice. Buda restaurant is lovely. Rooms are basic, beds are hard and only one pillow.
Weather was very windy and cloudy on and off. All in all it was a good week.

Nice all inclusive hotel. The rooms are a good size with plenty of drawers and hanging space for clothes. A fridge, a safe and a hair dryer and a kettle are in the rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurants have a huge range of different meals available. The beach isn't the white sand beach that the advertisers claim though. It is black sand near the water and traditional coloured sand further back. This is a beach/pool holiday hotel. There is nothing else to see or do here.

What really makes this hotel great is the staff, always smiling, polite and welcoming. The food is of excellent quality and, if you are here for a week, you won't be bored eating the same things. The alcoholic drinks won't win any awards but are drinkable. WiFi is fast in the reception and pool areas but none in the hotel rooms. Our room was almost the furthest away from the reception, but we welcomed the peace and quiet and exercise. The room was spotlessly clean, but not 5* by European standards, more like a good 3*. To be honest, we didn't spend much time in it. The beach is beautiful, but would not be suitable for small children due to the large waves. Only gripe would be a lack of sunbeds round the pool and lack of working sunbeds on the beach.

I am currently here. Good sunshine but rather windy in March. Best time from April to go. Large selection of food but could do with better labelling for vegetarian dishes such as pastas and pizzas.

Just THE best hotel on the BEST island in Cape Verde with unspoilt beaches and fabulous views. The rooms are consistently comfy and well-appointed. Showers are refreshing, safes are secure but hardly needed. We've returned over half a dozen times and just love it here.

Nice place to be,the staff FANTASTIC,smile all the time and very helpful,the food is greatthe rooms,if you really know what is 5 stars,you will see some things😊 but not so bad,the towels not so nice smell,ventilation needs in the bathroom,some rooms with no door in the shower area,you come out of the shower and you are exposed to those in the room, we changed the room for this reason,in the evening the animation is FANTASTIC,they are really good ,the swiming pools are nice,just the middle one is warm😉.the beach very nice but windy all the timeis good in a way because the sun is very hot,the ocean nice.
We had a very nice holiday from 13-02 to 20-02-2018 with no stress at all,no cars no noise from construction sitesThank you Riu Karamboa teamwe will come back with pleasure🙌🙋🙋

A great hotel spread over a large area with a very African feel to it. Food was great and entertainment was interesting. Great place for beach walking but little else to do outside of the hotel. A wonderful place for winter Sunshine.

We've had a great time here. Staff are friendly and welcoming. If you want somewhere to chill and get away you can't get much better. The sea is challenging and for strong swimmers. The pool area is wonderful with plenty of sunbeds. Food is great with lots of choices. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel, superb staff, can't do enough to help you. Great choice of food available all the time. Clean, always sun loungers available. Pools never overcrowded. Definitely recommended. Will be returning 😊😊

The hotel is lovely although it is very large . The surrounding gardens are nice. The pools beach are about 5/10 minute walk ( depending on which room you are staying in ) they are fabulous. The entertainment staff were absolutely amazing myself & husband thoroughly enjoyed every evening of entertainment.

This hotel is truly like a palace, we went for our honeymoon in June and were given a suite. The staff make your holiday, they can not do enough for you. If you have a problem in your room it is fixed within the hour, nothing is too much trouble.
There is building work going next door where a new hotel is being built, our tour operator gave us warning of it but my heart was fixed on this hotel. Lots of people changed hotels and let me say they were fools, the hotel is so vast you were never aware any works were going on.
If you are going to Boa Vista this is the only hotel to stay at.it's out of this world!!

Fantastic experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and very clean. Beer ,wine and soft drinks are self service so no standing at bars waiting for service. Food and restaurants are awesome. Beaches and pool area are very enjoyable. Can walk along the beach into town but it's a fair walk so if you don't want to walk ,taxis are readily available

Fantastic, huge, sandcastle shaped hotel. Great food. Self serve beer, wine and soft drinks means no queuing at the bar. Plenty of activities on site, but not a great deal on the island. Perfect for chilling out in the sun and relaxing.

Fully inclusive holiday. Good if you want to sit in the sun & chill. Food amazing. Drink OK (Local Red/White wine and beer). Excursions available and "Town" is close for a change.

Nice hotel, nice staff. Decent food. Drink was ok. Porter that took our bags up to our room was very rude when tipped, not just to us but the 2 other couples we were with. My advice, don't tip them. All the other staff are top-notch.

Not bad but doesn't feel like a 5* place lots of corners cut, poor quality produce used for food, watery drinks. The staff are lovely, and they gifted us a bottle of bubbly on my boyfriend's birthday which was kind. BUT - we heard from several reliable sources that they pay poverty wages to their staff - around 200-250 EUR a month which doesn't go far at all on this increasingly expensive island. It's unacceptable for a company clearly making huge amounts of money to exploit people in this way. We had a lovely time in Boa Vista but that's because it's a beautiful place with kind, charming people. The hotel was convenient and served it's purpose, but it didn't add to our experience. The beaches and the sea are wonderful however, so clean and clear - especially if you turn right out of the hotel beach entrance and walk up a little - the sea is calmer there and the beach is empty.

Great hotel in a great location. Food was wonderful and service in the restaurant awesome. Pool and activities were also great. Pretty high waves most of the time, so bathing in the ocean would only be recommended for good swimmers. Great bar in the pool so no real need to go to the beach anyways. 😁
