We organised a whale watching trip through Boa Vista kitesurf school. I know it sounds strange but they were the only ones that came up when we Google searched it. The trip was fantastic and they organised it brilliantly in association with Salinas. We had a fantastic, memorable afternoon following Humpback whales with well informed professional staff and an onboard marine biologist. I would thoroughly recommend them based on our experience.
This company also offers eBike rentals for the beach and dunes and while riding 'fatbikes' on the beach is indeed fun, when I rented 2 for my wife and I, the chain on one was stretched and skipped cogs. Annoying but ok, didn't spoil things. However, 2nd rental was a disaster, the battery went dead after just one hour of a two hour rental. Walking a useless bike back for an hour is not so enjoyable.
I race bikes and own an eMTB for fun, I know how long the batteries should last even under heavy strain and one hour signals a battery that should not be in service any more for a 2 hour rental!
The Staff admitted several problems with their bikes and never offered to swop batteries.
Having used another Tour and Activity operator for 3 days, I can say BoaVistaKite are not really geared towards good customer service. Shoddy. Fatbikes on the beach, great fun, especially in the dunes. But rent from a company with decent bikes!
Great team ! Taking thier time to teach you kite surfing. Competent and very patient with us beginners 😀 If conditions are not ideal in front of the school they arrange with transports to other parts of the island where conditions are better. I had a great experience learning to kite with them. Special thanks to Lama !
Truly a great experience all the way from initial phone call through the lesson. Staff extremely nice and helpful. Great learning experience for me and the family! Awesome sport! Awesome instructors!
The Boavista Kitesurf School are a competent team that took good care of me in my first steps with kitesurfing. I have paragliding and windsurfing experience that definitely was of help, but that said my instructor Lama had me in the water after 2 x 2 hour sessions on land, and after 3 session in the water had me mastering the body drag, and getting up on the board and doing a few meters before loosing it. For the sessions I was either single or with Antonio from Italy who was learning like me. Lama is very clear in his explanations and does a great job in telling, showing and letting one try. For the water sessions we had Adelson accompanying us in a zodiac boat or on a jet ski, so there was safety and a place to relax always at hand - so I could focus all my efforts on Lama's instruction. Well done guys !
