As an island it's very much like the surface of Mars, great for quad biking. Beaches are second to none, well worth a visit and stay in one of their very good hotels

Boa Vista is a very poor country and relies heavily on tourism. It’s like the hotels are plonked on Mars with its red rocky landscape. There is little to do outside the hotels but it is going to change in the next ten years so if you want to see it in its natural beauty then go now. All of the locals and workers are nice, happy and welcoming. If you go then please leave them any unwanted clothing, pens , pencils etc
