The beach is pretty much a local fun beach. Not exactly clean but lively. Always hear music and happy faces. People come with bottles of rum or beer and then you can find broken glass all over. It also depends which of the beaches in playa del este.
Nice public beach
A great place that is not as crazy as Varadero. A different European tourist here is more likely than north American. Unspoiled beaches with only 20 cuc cab fare from Havana. The local bus will take you there for around 3 cuc. Not a lot of services available there.
6 CUC will get you a couple of beach chairs and an umbrella. Be sure to get some peanuts from a vendor for a cheap beach snack.
Instead of paying around 30 CUC for a taxi from Havana, you can catch a bus at Parque Central (Havana) for 5 CUC for jump-on, jump-off service to the beach. The bus departs every thirty minutes or so and you can catch it back to Havana at either Hotel Tropicoco or a clearly marked bus stop at the west end of Avenida Aventura. Only takes a few minutes more than a taxi and makes a stop near the statue of Christ and Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro.
Great beach, beautiful and friendly people (Cuban and tourists), and good food/drinks.
Great place to Relax at the beach.
Very nice beach close to Habana capital city. Quite clean with nice send. Good service.
The beach is wonderful. Crystal clear water, really nice sand. Missing better places to eat.
Its an okay beach. There are much nicer beaches in Cuba with calmer water and nicer sand. Its filled with locals which is nice but its also very busy on weekend. There is a main beach that's the most busy and a couple side beaches that are less busy and cleaner. You can get to the Playas de este by bus from parque central in Havana for 5 CUC round trip. Unfortunately biggest issue was the dirty beach. Lots of beer bottles and caps all over the place and other garbage too. If you are staying in Havana and want to go to the beach this is the closest option.
Great beach for washing in the ocean. Several food and drink options. Minimal souvenir vendors. Impressive storm
super cool beach and unbelievable fine white sands, clear and Crystal water, the beach extend into ocean about 1000 meters with very flat slope. I wanna move to live there.
Great beach near Havana. The beach could be a bit more maintained but it's a great place to interact with locals
Beautiful beach. Clear water. Plenty of lounge chairs to rent under palapas. Great drink and food service on the beach. Short ride from Havana or there is a great Air BnB option a short walk from the beach. Dining options are limited after 6pm but Guanabo is very close and has good dining options.
Gets very busy. Nice sand.
The bus to the beach costs 5CUC and departs from Parque Central. I added a schedule for 2017. Nice beach! Not that many tourists. Worth going if you are in havana for a few days!
There is no beach in the Havana, so you'll have to go there by bus or taxi from the city.
I really enjoyed this beach, was clean and beautiful. You can buy some stuff like coconuts and food from the seller on the beach. Security was patrolling as well.
They are beautiful beaches, close as you can be to Havana. Hope you don't mind the really dirty beach, there is basically no maintenance and you are going to walk on plastic remaining and cigarette butts
What a beach! It's as best Caribbean as you can find
