A very nice place with two very nice and passionate hosts.
I would like to recommend people to stay here in the beginning of there trip. Since Carlos has a lot of knowledge about where to go and what to visit.
Nice, clean and central place in a quite street with fantastic hosts. Carlos and his family were all very lovely and helpful. I would recommend this casa, no doubts.
Actually, and to be honest, we didn't stay at this place over night but Carlos, the owner, was our driver for a two week round trip through out whole Cuba. We had a very good time with him! He knows almost every hidden spot on this beautiful island. If it wasn't for him we would have missed a lot!
By the end of our trip, we came to Santa Clara and Carlos invited us spontaneously to his place. His wife Elisabeth and her Mother cooked one of the best meals we ever had in Cuba!
The hostel is, as far as we saw, very clean and everybody is really friendly. By the time we ate lunch about three people came by and asked for a room. As they were fully booked, Elisabeth and Carlos helped them always to find another place.
In my opinion, Lonely Planet tells you exactly the right things about this place. Go and check it out yourself!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! We had a confirmed booking made six months before our arrival. The owners were over-booked, and lied that they hadn't received our messages from the previous day (SMS & email). They then said they were renovating, though there were other people staying and no building material in sight. BASICALLY: This place is using its strong review in Lonely Planet to push guests to other guest houses, and earn a nice commission. Dodgy.
