El Húron Azul was home to renowned Cuban artist Carlos Enríquez Gómez (1900 - 1957) whose work can be seen in the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana city centre including the 'El Rapto de las Mulatas', one of his most famous pieces. It is off the tourist trail but worth a visit if interested in this man's work.
