THE place for coffee connoisseurs and aficionados. They serve Monteverde grown coffee in a variety of roasts and preparations. There is a free tasting area (ask for a cup if needed), with 5-6 types of coffee to sample (natural process, honey process, light roast, medium roast, dark roast). After sampling coffee, you can sit at the coffee bar and order any varietal of coffee prepared one of seven different ways (espresso style, Chemex, V60, French Press, Chorreador, Oriental siphon, and air press), see picture of board. The workers are coffee lovers as well, and have a large amount of knowledge. The quiches ($3-$4) and other pastries are prepared in-house and are delicious. My girlfriend ordered a hot chocolate which was prepared with milk and powdered cocoa and was the best hot chocolate she had in 5 months of travel in Central America (and she's Belgian so chocolate is her specialty). This is a well-run business that is well worth a visit if you enjoy a real cup of coffee. Highly recommended.

Had a delicious V60 made with the local Cafe de Monteverde beans. It cost about the same as a good pourover in the US, so pricey but well worth it for me.

8,000 colones for a cappucino and empanada? There is better coffee in town, safe your money.
