This company was great. We rented a van for 8 days in March 2017. The price they quoted by email months ahead was exactly what I paid. They were very easy to communicate with leading up to our trip. The driver who picked us up and and returned us to the airport was very friendly and nice, and was willing to stop multiple times for our family of 9. When a minor part on the van came loose during the trip, they showed me where it had been glued before and the glue had failed, and did not charge me anything. I was amazed at the service and honesty, especially after reading some bad reviews of other rental companies. I highly recommend them.

Wow - outstanding service! They had the best price, and that included additional drivers, a car seat for our toddler, a cooler & map, and a cell phone rental. The phone was our GPS and worked everywhere we drove to in CR. (I would reccomend goinf this route.) We had actually booked a regular GPS for the vehicle and they recommended the cell phone because it would save us moneywho does that? Also, service/airport pickup & drop off were excellent. They even let us print our boarding passes at the headquarters because we didn't have a printer. Totally booking through Zuma again next time. Note that contrary to what we had heard about orher rental companies, we actually paid LESS (about $50 less) than the quoted price. Super stoked on this company - thanks, guys!

Great rental car place - I felt safe in the car (even though it was 10 years old) and was charged exactly what was quoted two months ago when we reserved it (I had heard horror stories about "required insurance"). My Toyota Prado hauled 7 people around for 10 days and didn't complain in the slightest. The AC was cold but would have been nice to have vents in the back (the car was 10 years old & this model didn't come with that). I would definitely use Warren & Zuma again. They picked us up from San Jose airport (and the driver had to shuttle back as there was no room for them & our luggage) & dropped us off when we left (meeting us in Jaco at 4 AM to make our flight).

My Mother and I had the unfortunate luck of renting from Zuma while she was down visiting Jaco. I had previously recommended zuma to renters that had rented out my beach house. I thought I would try Zuma out. They offer a free transfer from San Jose but we chose to pick up the car in Jaco. No discount given. No problem. Zuma being the most expensive option in Jaco we thought we would get a good car. We did not. We got the basic Toyota Yaris. With manual locks and manual windows. Ok, not awesome, We couldn't upgrade even if we wanted, as they had no spare cars available.

We took the car the next day on a small road trip to Manual Antonio and we discovered the a/c didn't work well after the car got heated up in the sun. So we took the car back in and they recharged the a/c in the back lot and also fixed a leaky tire. Friendly enough but we needed to spend an hour and a half there of our holiday which changed our travel plans for the week.

Took the car back to Warren at Zuma after a trip to Monte Verde and San Jose. We went to check car and he noticed the back cup holder wasn't there. It wasn't when we picked the car up. He said that I was lying. And showed me another car. I told him it wasn't there. He then reached under the seats. I remember seeing a plastic thing under the seats when get my daughters toys picked up. He didn't find anything and promptly walked back to the office. I looked under seat found the plastic cup holder. Placed it on seat.

At this point Warren was very brisk with me. He was convinced I was lying. Why would I lie?!?

My mother told him how the back seat belts were very uncomfortable and he told her this car was straight from Japan and not like the cars in the USA. First of all we are Canadian. Second did he tell us we were fat? My mom is size 14. A little chubby but she's 71 years old dude! I then told him I had lived in Asia for 8 years and had plenty of cars direct from Japan. No problem with their seat belts.

He told me he would give me a discount on the car for our troubles. He said a one day discount. I said that isn't even a 10% discount. He told me that we just weren't used to Costa Rican cars and that this is how things are here in Costa Rica. If I hadn't lived here for 5 years. I might agree. If you are a local. Yes you might drive a similar car. But if you are a tourist renting from any other rental company in jaco or San Jose, you will get a fairly new, air conditioned, Automatic. Auto locks and window car. If there is any problem they will fix or get you a new car. No problem. No other questions asked.

Warren reluctantly gave us the 10% including swearing at us for lying about the cup holder and how I should have lived here longer to know how things really worked. He actually used bad language. I was appalled. For hiring the most expensive car rental service in jaco. Not using their transit service. And only getting a 10% discount. He continued to get more and more angry when I told him I would not be recommending they rental service to any future renters he said he would charge us the full rental price and we could never us their business again.

I never swore. I never got mad. Warren was as unprofessional as you could possible imagine. Not sure if his wife left him that morning but wow. It sure appeared as something significant happened to him as he lost his cool.

I offered to take him back to the car to show him the cup holder. He accused my daughter of putting her foot on it and breaking it. We paid. Left. I will never ever use their company again. Horrible horrible service and product.

We recommend Economy rent a cars in Jaco. You must pay about an extra $20/day for the basic insurance but nice, new, cars and Professional service from start to finish.

Warren and his team were awesome. They may not have been the cheapest price, but they went WAY out of their way to make sure that we had what we needed. Warren and his employees were easy to communicate with, having very good English. Warren explained everything to us very clearly and even was willing to swap out with us for the next step up in vehicle for our return trip to the airport in order to make the drive more comfortable for us. Can't say enough good about Zuma. Top notch.

Warren at Zuma was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was very responsive via the internet prior to our arrival in Costa Rica. Once we were at the airport we were promptly greeted and taken to Jaco by a delightful driver. The process was so easy. The vehicle was brand new and ready to go. I was a little nervous doing all arrangements over the internet but Warren took care of everything just as he promised. I highly recommend Zuma. Excellent service. No worries at all!
