Nice layout. It appears the animals are cared for. There were a few birds that looked as though they could have used a little more space and foilage. There are a lot of beautiful birds and animals. We recommend a visit.

Beautiful and clean place with helpful personal. There's a lot of animals, birds and reptiles to watch. The lady in the entry told me that see everything would take me like an hour and half but it take me three including a short canopy.

Please like my review if you found it helpful. Its so sad to say that going to visit this zoo was more entertaining and much more eventful then going to Manuel Antonio. I know its a zoo, you're expected to see animals, but in my opinion, it was the icing on the cake. We saw amazing birds, parrots, toucans, iguanas, monkeys, turtles, snakes, wild cats and 2 sloths. Its completely outdoors, very clean and very friendly staff. We did the whole tour slowly which took us about 2 hours walking slowly. They also have ziplines available and is a great introduction to ziplining if you never did it before. The park is very affordable $20 per adult and i cant remember, but it was cheaper for the kids. At the end there is a ice cream shop and also a restaurant. So its not Manuel Antonio and it does not have beaches of Manuel Antonio but it does have animals to see.

Great place if you love birds. They also have crocodiles, caimans, various species of monkeys, peccaries, a tapir, a kinkaju (sp?), tortoises, turtles, sloth and probably a couple others that I am forgetting. The animals are rescued and those that can be rehabilitated are released back into the wild. The cages are generally large and the animals look well cared for. The entry fee is very reasonable - we paid 12,000 colones for 2 adults and one child. It stroller friendly and there are bathrooms and a couple of food options.

Good price and beautiful place. The most important thing is the fact that they are not a zoo, but a rescue center. They have great numbers of animals reintroduced to the wild.

Zoo Ave a nice zoo that is good for the full family. The zoo is a nice size and makes for a nice half-day trip if you're in the area. There is a great selection of animals here including monkeys, birds, reptiles, and lots more. Zoo Ave is definitely worth checking out for any animal fans.

I really enjoyed venturing through this park. There’s many different species here but they have large, caged environments (which is great) but it’s difficult to see everything. The park is easy to navigate. Expect to spend up to an hour here. This park supports the conservation of wildlife in Costa Rica, which is hugely important so please take some time to visit!

Perfect place to experience the pure beauty of costa rica and it’s wild life. The nature is unbelievably amazing and it’s kid friendly. The animals interact with u and are exited to see u witch I have never seen before! U can also pay a small addition Cost to go zip lining across and around the zoo with animals by your side. I would give it a 5 star but it does have a small lack of animals and could have a bit more, other then that it’s a great place to visit.

Nice smaller sized zoo. You can do a nice paced walk through in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. They have zipplining (canopy) rides for about $24 USD.

Wonderful place , too good to be a zoo , it's actually more like an animal rescue center , I can see they took good care of the animals because of the condition of the place . The restaurant is also good, there are peacocks come to you for food when you are eating 😂😂

Really nice observatory of different species of birds. After the nice walk and seeing different animals there's also a great restaurant to go to. Food was delicious and great customer service.

This is the best zoo in Costa Rica. There are lots of animals, mostly Birds, all kept in as natural a habitat as possible. Lots of information both in English and in Spanish. There are food and drink both available in the park. The best time to go is as early in the morning as possible. During the dry season, because of the Heat and in the wet season, because of the chance of rain later in the day. We spent an entire morning there and enjoyed it immensely.

We loved getting to experience this zoo/animal rehabilitation center. I went with my almost-3 year old and my 2 month old. There were roaming peacocks and lizards, extensive trails to explore, and almost no one else in sight (we went as soon as it opened). Great for families. Delicious ice cream. Plenty of spots to sit for a rest.

Fantastic day for the whole family. So much to see, learn and discuss. Everyone from my 3 yr old nephew to my 70 yr old father had a terrific time, and felt great about supporting a wildlife rescue facility rather than a traditional zoo. Also, the restaurant is very good. Stop for dessert on your way out!

Great zoo with birds, monkeys, turtles and many other animals. Most of the walking areas are shaded by trees, which makes it cool.

Easy to get around. Not too far to walk, Shaded areas most of the way, saw lots of local animals. Lots of animals released into the wild, your visit helps.

Best to plan to arrive on a weekday at opening hours: the whole zoo is yours. Weekend trips are packed with hundreds of people. The stories behind the animals is mind blowing.

This is a beautiful zoo that you should plan to visit. It hosts many Costa Rican and regional animals. It is clean and well maintained. The cost for foreigners is $15. It will take about 2 to 3 hours to go through. There is a nice little dining area and ZipLine that you can fly over several animal enclosures.
