The tour was fine, but hardly worth the 40 USD we paid each. The manager was rude to us and obviously not local. The tour wasn't with his employees, he just set us up with another tour group. I would suggest you arrive early into cahuita the day you wish to snorkel or hike and find a local guide. There are many and you will pay much less. Valerie at the reception was very nice.

We had a great experience. Booked the Tortuguero Canal Boat Tour with Willies Tour . Normally, we avoid tour guides like the plague, but it was going to be too much of a hassle for us to arrange it ourselves and travel by public transport so we went with Willies. The tour included lunch (sandwich, water, and fruit), pick up & drop off in Cahuita, the boat tour on the canal (4hrs return), and a short tour of historic Limón, total of 7hrs, $115 USD. Jorge was our ride. He was very nice, friendly, and informative. He showed us around Limón and took care of us. We couldn't have picked a nicer day as it was sunny and we had the whole boat to ourselves. We were dropped off at Port Moin in the morning, and met the boat Captain Eddy who was also veru nice, friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. He had a great eye for spotting all the camouflaged wildlife even the tiny bats hiding on a branch. We had a great time. We saw sloths, howler monkeys, crocodiles, basilisks, iguanas, & birds. I highly recommend as these guys know what they are doing. We were able to book on short notice, the day before which was great for us. As for value for money, if the guys are getting paid fairly.sure! :)

Did the snorkeling tour with them, and it was definitely worth it. We were in the sea for a long time and had some pineapple on the boat when we returned; saw lots of corals and interesting fish. We had a good time but our captain had a very peculiar sense of humor that was difficult to follow sometimes, we weren't sure if whatever he was saying was true, but take it lightly. He was also very bossy sometimes. Remember the pura Vida approach and don't take it personally.
