We was delayed almost 2hrs, staff did not notify reason. And this was lunch in executive tickets. Had to pay tip to put luggage in the bus. At least we had a screen to watch movie and seat was comfortable.

I can't believe the people posting here have travelled much in Central America! The service is excellent by the local standards. Fast and efficient. I found the staff very pleasant. Yes the toilet is a challenge, what do you expect? You're getting taken seamlessly between countries, customs all handled for you, for $29!!! Learn to travel by the local standards and Ticabus is a great way to go.

They will grab your money right and left. Example. They take a service charge at border crossing but do not save any time or effort. And hide that this is. A surge chrage on ticket price

We just travelled from Costa Rica to Granada in Nicaragua. Bus driver abrupt and not responding to questions (which we asked in Spanish). Virtually no leg room and your knees in the seat in front of you if you're anything taller than 160cm.
Just before the border a man wearing a tica bus shirt boarded and insisted that we give him or passports and Costa Rica exit and Nicaragua entry fees. He would not allow us to do the procedures ourselves even though we insisted. He collected $8 for exit fee from Costa Rica and $14 for entry fee to Nicaragua.
I read these should be $7 and $12 respectively and questioned the $22 he demanded on multiple occasions. I later got a receipt for $7 (not $8) from Costa Rican exit and again questioned it. He just shrugged his shoulders and mumbled something about service.
How much the entry fee to Nicaragua was I don't even know as they lost my tourist card and when I demanded they provide me with one, they said I don't need it.
All in all, someone from tica bus most likely ripped each of us off by $3.
Not worth the money, just make your own way and do your procedures yourself.response / report this review -

BRING YOUR FOOD, WATER AND TOILET PAPER !! a cold Big Mac for lunch at 3pm, very small dinner, chemical soda, no wifi, no toilet paper, 6 movies.
All included is a joke and you will have to pay a lot to eat in tica bus station. You will arrive 2 hours before by night, no space to wait and if you want to sleep in their hotel so expensive. Very unsastisfied of this bus company I was starving the whole trip and staff doesn't care. Worse : they will eat before everybody to be sure their food is hot take a plane !response / report this review -

A tax is levied - in cash, in dollars, ONLY - which there is no information about prior to check-in - and the closest working cash machine with dollars was a 15 minute walk away. This tax should be included in the ticket purchase, since it is levied for every traveller. Check-in was confusing and disorganised, involving visits to 3 different counters, which were all involved in other tasks as well. Staff were friendly but this does not fix the fact that the customer service was terrible.

Unfriendly, cold, and unhelpful staff - unfortunately - but the busses are great if one gets a new one. Just expect incompetency incarnate and a cold shoulder at the office!

Terrible customer service. Tickets are booked through agents who do not have the correct information.
We booked our bus ticket with a Tica Bus representative in Nicaragua to travel to Costa Rica. We showed the agent proof of our onward journey out of Costa Rica and they told us that it would be sufficient. When we tried to board the bus to Costa Rica the next day, another "agent" forced to buy a bus ticket from Costa Rica to Panama. This cost us USD100 and we never used it as we already had booked a flight.
We explained this to a clerk once we arrived in San Jose but they wouldn't listen to us, kept cutting us off and were extremely rude. We never got our money back or an explanation as to what happened or why we were forced to buy an additional bus ticket we would never use. They also stated that the agents do not work for Tica Bus and do not represent the company even though they sell Tica Buss tickets.

I would like that the bus stop in a place to let passengers to go to the restroom because although the bus has a toilet but it smell terrible and the bus is bumping ..so, can you imagine that ?😰 but customer service is Ok, nicethe hotel is fine and clean thank you guys!
