Good hang out zone for the locals. Right in the middle of everything. Nice and big square.
Nice place with different food options but, in my opinion it lacks more restaurants. The service is really good and the price is not the lowest.
Fascinating cultural and political history. Only complaint is that not all exhibit text is in English. This is a minor complaint because I don't believe they are obligated to do that, but the guy selling us tickets did tell us all the exhibits are bilingual. Still working on my spanish so it was kind of nice to be forced to use it.
We take the kids and they enjoy chasing the pigeons and watcing the computerized lighted fountains. Its located in the heart of downtown San Jose
Nice little cement park on top of the gold museum. Always someone there sweeping and keeping it clean.
Quintessential Central American urban space Lots of activity. Don't miss the National Theatre or the Museo De Oro!
A must do if you are in San Jose. Walk around, visit the theater and especially the gold museum because it is the best thing to do in San Jose. Have lunch at one of the many restaurants. This is an area you can spend a day at. Enjoy.
best place in san jose
Nice, lively center of San Jose. There are usually lively musical events and spraying fountains for kids. The beautiful National Theater is located on one side of the Plaza; the Numismatic and Gold Museums are beneath the Plaza.
Beautiful place to relax and take photos. There are usually a couple of venders with refreshments.
beautiful building. If you are in San Jose thats a good place to meet with others or to take as a reference point.
Interesting. Empty. Bananas. Seemed experimental, and thirsty for more art
Great plaza!!! Located adjacent to Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica, the Plaza is clean and beautiful!!! It is near the end of Avenida Central, a pedestrian only street. It is a great place to take pictures of the theater and the surrounding areas!!!
This is a meeting place for a variety of crowds, it's usually packed around noon and later in the afternoon. It's located right next to the National Theater, and the Gold Museum. From here the National Museum is about five blocks away, making it a nice stop if you are walking in downtown San José. There's plenty of coffee shops and fast food restaurants around it. Probably the best place to eat here is the café in the theater.
Cool open market. Lots of eating places and many street vendors with good deals.
Crowdy but nice to know the costa rica real life and shopping items on street.
Home of the gold Museum and 2 million pigeons. A good place to people-watch. The National Theatre is also here and is a must-see for tourists.
You never knows what can you see over there. Just try not to crash with the people walking around and take care of your wallet. Historical place close the National museum. I like it. Walking around the plaza is for free lol. You have to have a selfie in there of course You didn't visit the capital of you haven't been here.
It has been recently redesigned. You will love the kids playing in the water fountain. Nice place to take pictures. Mind your belongings, though.
