I first found this place in the early 90s. before Google maps shrank the world to the palm of your hand. It was a welcome home for the road wearied traveler after driving down from Texas.

Love this place!! Went 3-5 times a week last year. Great bar, great food, good prices. They let you use the pool as a patron, unlike places like Harmony Hotel and Harbor reef where you cant use the pool even though your spending money on site. Guilded Iguana is laid back and relaxing, plus the staff are cool.

Nice dining option for Playa Guiones with a few options you won't find in the immediate vicinity (call it a 20 minute walk) such as tuna pasta and also a pretty reasonable wine selection.
Drawbacks: more expensive than other options (Imperial will run your 1,500 colones here as opposed to 1,000 at many other spots) and will be closed for much of the off-season.response / report this review -
