Place is pretty nice, right on the beach with a nice view of the ocean. Food wise, it's pretty expensive and it's nothing special.

On the beach. You can watch the surf and enjoy a beer. Surfing competitions Fri and Sat. Go early if you want to watch. Crowds up fast and little safe parking. Don't block the access road to Playa Hermosa. People live here. Thanks

Delicious food and fast food with cold beer in front of the beach, you can leave your car in the street after eating and walk for a while on the beach!! Great please

Went to the restaurant tonight. Food was good but service was absolutely terrible. Our order was very wrong, 3 people at our table had to wait 30 minutes after everyone else got their food to get theirs. Waiters and waitresses couldn't be bothered to fix anything. I'll never be back. Can't speak to the hotel itself but the restaurant was awful. Will never be back. Don't recommend.

Been coming here since 2003. It's always been a good time with amazing views of PlayaHermosa and the surfers that surf there. Was there again recently for a lovely sunset and a family of macaws visited the big tree in the backyard. That was really something. The food is good, the drinks are free flowing and at night it turns into a great little night club. They used to do a ladies night. Not sure if it's still a thing. Also, they have a guard out front to watch over your vehicle. Peace of mind.

I have never stayed here, but every time I can I make and stop here. The food is really good and the view is just great. You will have your meal or drink just in front of the beach, when you are done you can take a walk on the beach, just priceless. The service is good, most of the time.

Cozy little hotel. Has a nice restaurant and bar annex to it. On the beach and not too far from Jaco beach.

A great spot to watch the local surfing competition on Fridays! The food and drinks are a bit pricey, but it was a great time. The outdoor patio/grass area is really cool.

I enjoyed the smoothie and shrimp fajitas. It's nice to have chairs to chill on that face the beach.

The backyard is my favorite bar in the universe. The food is good the drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is unmatched. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the money exchange listed on the receipt is inaccurate and misleading. It won't stop me from coming back though.

Great location, walking 50 yards and you are in the break. The waves can be from waist high to double overhead. Breakfast included. Updated rooms and right next door to the Backyard Bar. Surf contest every Saturday afternoon with a bikini contest and live music after that! Good vibes!

Beautiful sunset, great environment, nice people..all that right on the water. Friday and Saturday afternoons (during the season) they have a surf competition that goes until the sun sets and then someone takes over the live music. Incredibly nice.
