Diria is a beautiful hotel right in the middle of the strip in tamarindo! The condos are fantastic as well. The hotel rooms walk right out to the most beautiful beach you will ever see a pacific sunset on. Breakfast was included and authentic! Highly recommend staying at Diria!

We had a fantastic time here at the Diria! Service was great, we had an oceanfront room, view was fabulous. I especially want to commend our waiter Daniel Tonorio in the oceanfront restaurant. He was so good to us & made our meals so much fun, I will miss him. Also Luis in the swim up bar in the family pool, so much fun. These two made our stay so much better than it already was

This is currently more about the tour desk, which is technically part of the hotel. We stopped by the tour desk yesterday and happened to catch a very unhappy couple in the midst of argument with the desk manager (Bryan)
Not knowing all the details, I was staying neutral in terms of picking sides; however I was ultimately taken aback by the other desk employee making a disparaging comment about the guests after they left in disgust. Despite the upset guest's advice not to use the Hotel's Tour Desk, I went ahead and booked an all day tour for our family of 4. Well before the 24 hr cancellation period, my wife decided she didn't want to go and attempted to cancel at the desk. The same woman from the day before was at the tour desk and would not agree to the cancellation (not clear why not). I stopped by the desk after breakfast to try and resolve the matter myself. Long story short, the same woman ultimately gave me the runaround as well and proceeded to disparage my wife as if she thought that it was normal to just disparage everyone. After multiple attempts to get me to exchange my wife's cancellation amount for hotel credit, she told me I would need to come back at noon to speak with her manager (Bryan). Instead I went back to my room and sent an email to Bryan & Customer Relations advising them not only was I was cancelling my wife's tour, I was cancelling for the entire family as well as the two spa treatments I had reserved. I could have taken the first customer's advice not to book with them and in retrospect I should have. It is never acceptable to disparage guests in the hospitality industry.

This hotel is right on the beach. The pool across the street is great, clean and not crowded. There are many options for food in the area and the hotel has about 4 restaurant options as part of their property. The tour desk was very helpful a. D we organized a tour with them. There are very few outlets in the room! There was one outlet by the bed and it was for a lamp and alarm clock. There was only 1 other outlet in the room. 8 recommend you bring a power strip. No iron in the room but the front desk will bring you one.

The Location is fabulous [ very touristy area ] your in the middle of everything shops, restaurants,Surf shops,a Brewery,Casino-small but close by. Staff was great I just wonder how they put up with occasional traveler all day long it's beyond my patience.Facilities on the Ocean side is the best though the only snag was our room was small { room 111} great location Ocean level we had a TB room { Tsunami Bate } you have to think about that with all the active Volcanoes in the area.
Of all the Hotels,B&B,Motels that we have been to all over the World this one is the absolutely the best included breakfast ever hands down{Oceanside part of the Hotel} we stayed 4 nights that's about all we could handle being in a small room still highly recommended by a Old Salty Dog.

No no bad service at the restaurant bar. Every other place along the strip has been great honest and as is! Went to meet a friend there for drinks happy hour and we were told didn’t start until 4:30 instead of 4. Okay we said we would wait and told the waitress to come back at 4:30 so she shows up order 2 glasses of wine . Then another friend shows up and orders a beer , she says ok Happy Hour just started and we weren’t on it! We complained to her she didn’t care, brought the beer. Ordered another glass of wine brings the wrong one!
Disappears and we don’t see her again , look to pay and no where. We get up to find her and she chases us thinking we are leaving but in fact we are trying to find her!
Lousy service made you feel like your a thief and too many other choices !

Outstanding hotel and beach. Quirky, as it straddles the main road but there are helpers to make sure the traffic stops. Even though it’s not all inclusive, you don’t need much cash as the bars and restaurants allow you to charge to the room.

Tip: turn right and walk along the beach until you get to the river, then get one of the boat owners to give you a tour up the river. Don’t try swimming across to the national park on the other side though, there are crocodiles in there!

We loved the hotel and had a great time. I would suggest getting an ocean front room in lieu of the street side. It can be kids noisy in the early late night on the weekends. They have two pools, the one with the swim up bar is across the street away from the beach. It still was one of the better places in town and would recommend it!

Our room is comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff has been helpful and accomodating to all of our requests. I would stay there again.

The ocean view room was very nice. The room was very nicely furnished, with the small refrigerator very well hidden. The AC unit was quiet but sufficient to keep the room cool as the afternoon sun moved over-head. The bathroom was well laid out and worked well for our family. The beach in front of the hotel was amazing, with wonderful waves that the boys spent hours jumping it. We greatly enjoyed the Diria.

If you care about the females in your life not being able to be seen by possible voyeurs, stay away from this place. The rooms are in suspect shape and somehow 2 different rooms had holes in the ceiling that someone in a crawl space above could see in. Not cool. The place is nice but seem a little "partied out" like other places you know. My first time to Tamarindo - what a terrible first impression. The third room didn't have AC that worked. This was ONE NIGHT. Plenty of other places on the block to choose....

Very nice hotel. Beautiful pools and view from the room. However, no room service and drinks were very expensive. Almost like they don't want you drinking there, $8 for a beer. You can go anywhere else in town and get a beer for $3.

I love this place. Relaxed. Great service. One of the features I love about Diría are the amount of pools here and that there is an adult only one.

Wonderful pool facilities, beautiful landscaping and views. Shower wasn't the most enjoyable, but overall our favorite thing about staying in Tamarindo, staying at the resort. No hot tubs to speak of though, there were small pools with jets, but it was pool temp water.

Very nice place. Views of the ocean are amazing. I would definitely recommend an ocean front room if possible. The rooms on the other side of the street have nice views of the pool but nothing can compare to the views from the ocean front rooms. Staff and people were friendly but this area was much more touristy than areas like La Fortuna and Monteverde. Rooms were clean and spacious.

Beautiful grounds, nice choose of pools and grassy area in front of beach. Good security and friendly cleaning and wait service. I hope they get paid well! Free breakfast was nice. There is a few monkeys on the grounds . Check in and out could be a little faster or with more staff.

I found bed bugs all inside my mattress and when I went to the front desk they were extremely rude and wouldn't give me a different room or my money back. I was being polite and didn't make a scene but I couldn't believe how they treated me. I had to stay somewhere else for the night because the room was not an option. Even if your stay might be pleasant I don't recommend supporting a place with such values.

The hotel was good, clean. The service is cool. You have to be careful with the receptionist. In my experience, there was one male receptionist who was rude to me and I didn't know why, he completely ignored my presence and talked to my wife about all information even everything was under my name. People said that that's how most of people who are living in the tourist city like Tamarindo, they make good money so theyre snobby. I'm not sure. I'm only helping you to avoid being upset.

The "grassy beach" is well landscaped, plenty of shade, and has a low wall to keep the beach salespeople at bay. Views are amazing and the property is well positioned for the sunsets. The lagoon pool is zero-entry and is well landscaped. The beachfront restaurant looks like it is out of a movie. Someone is always sweeping or cleaning somewhere. There are just enough iguanas. Shopping and the main road splits the hotel. Grocery stores are close and reasonably priced. Restaurants abound within walking distance.

I'm really conflicted at this hotel. When I left I was convinced I was going to give it a one-star review their front desk made me so mad. They have a policy (printed up may I add) that says you can stay an extra hour if you request it the night before. I did this so my family could enjoy the pool and then they said they would do this for an extra $80 since we had two rooms. After I showed them the policy that I brought back from the room, they then pointed at the asterisk that says it is at the discretion of the front desk to decide if they will allow for late check-out. Now, in full-disclosure as mad as this made me the rest of the hotel was amazing. Their breakfast overlooked the beach with amazing food. They had multiple pools. My kids thought it was cool that frogs showed up at night at the lagoon pool. And the beach in front of the hotel was amazing as well. Last, there was an abundance of security there and they were always looking around at cars making you feel very secure. I would stay there again, but I still call their policy on late-check-out lame.
