We only ate here, but service was exceptional and food is very well prepared. When all the other restaurants were packed this one was not. it doesn't have a view of the beach, but it has wonderful atmosphere, nice parking, and good food and drinks.

Relaxing atmosphere- great to sit and relax on the private veranda, swinging in the hammock. The sound of the rain on the leaves would resonate through the open architecture of the cabin. The cabins are nestled in the trees, with all sorts of creatures passing through.

The staff are friendly and helpful. From the smiles and pleasantries provided at breakfast, to the fun stories of the server at night. The presentation of the meals are gorgeous. We also got to discover the wonder of Costa Rica's fine rums, and how they compare to their Nicaraguan counterparts.

Within a short walk away is a secluded sandy beach, offering plenty of shade from low-hanging branches of palm trees. Not too far is a handful of restaurants and shops in one direction, as well as a tourist center to guide you to nearby activities. Head down the road in the other direction and you will find a small zoo, and a scuba diving shop.

I would definitely look to return to Shawandha Lodge to spend a relaxing vacation with my loved one!

Great hotel villas a short walk to the beach! Great french cuisine restaurant and friendly staff. The villas are awesome and rates were reasonable. The pool was great and the parking has security at night.
