Just came back from 8 days in Costa Rica with Tachiz, and it was flawless. We had a question during our stay, one phone call solved it. They got what we needed and were really easy to work with. My traveling companion is 80, and she needed a slightly different itinerary from mine, which they accommodated. Totally recommend them.

a great company to book with - very organised and friendly. Much cheaper than going through a UK company. You need to do your own research of course for the hotels and resorts but they know the country so well that they can advise on your choices and help you plan

Overall, we had a great experience with Tachiz during our trip to Costa Rica and would highly recommend them. They built a custom itinerary for us based on our budget and preferences. We were able to visit 4 different regions of Costa Rica (Tortuguero, Arenal, Monte Verde & Manuel Antonio area (Quepos)).
PROS
- Itinerary was shared, discussed, re-worked and confirmed with us before the trip.
- Itinerary was very well organized and explained on the documentation provided before the trip via e-mail (and in print copy upon arrival) including what clothes, supplies were needed for each activity (ie. sunscreen).
- Personal Pick-up at the airport by the staff which explained the documentation and sent us on our way with well wishes.
- All activity and transfer (travel) providers were always on time and in a good mood. The Tachiz driver on our private transfer helped us find a local food place on our way to Manuel Antonio.
- Follow-ups by Tachiz during the trip to ensure everything was going well.
- Tachiz were available minutes after we sent e-mails when we needed them.
- As it was our honeymoon, Tachiz made sure we had a couple little surprises along the way which was much appreciated.
CONS
- The hotels were a little far from the main towns (we ended up taking lots of taxis which were not necessarily planned in the cost of our trip). However, we could have looked distances up before leaving and requested changes with Tachiz no problem but did not.response / report this review -

THE BEST
Anyone heading for Costa Rica will probably visit their own and well trusted travel agent. That we did 9 months before our proposed travel in February ’17 and in trying to sort out the myriad of excursion and hotels on offer always came up with the same answer, “we will come back to you” which was short hand for “we will talk to our agent in Costa Rica”. I suggest you go one better and deal direct with Tachiz Travel in San Jose. This was a faultless organisation that goes the extra mile in every detail to make sure your holiday is better than might be expected. Good English spoken, excellent e mail planning, drivers who were always on time irrespective of how far they had come to collect you, and lastly your money is safe, in our case we used their Pay Pall link to pay for the holiday. What was even more surprising was meeting a couple out there who had been directed to Tachiz Travel by their English travel agent, and too were delighted with the service they got.

Tachiz Travel provided outstanding service for our Costa Rica trip. By simply giving our vacation preferences and travel dates, they came up with a complete itinerary. They know where to go and how long to ideally spend in each place. All guess work was removed. All ground transport was provided and was reliable and on time. Whenever we arrived somewhere, there was a representative to pick us up. Alex was our driver for two 3-hour land excursions and he could not have been more pleasant. He constantly gave us information about what we were seeing and greatly enhanced our travels. They will suggest tours and book them for you as well. The tours were terrific and we were most impressed by the night forest tours in Monteverde. There were never any issues with tours, transportation, or hotels. This was truly worry-free travel. One subcontracted tour was running late due to other tourists and Tachiz Travel called me to let me know. Tachiz Travel truly provided 5-star service. We will use them again on our next trip to Costa Rica.

I want to thank you Tachiz Travel Costa Rica for a fantastic vacation. for myself, my grandson and my sister. We were picked up at the San Jose Airport by Alex and his wife Bianca and taken to our sleeping arrangements, which were perfect. The next morning we were picked up in a lovely van by the driver, Henry, on time and driven to the beautiful La Paz Waterfall Gardens that included a tasty buffet lunch. We saw birds, butterflies, snakes, cats, and gorgeous waterfalls. That evening we went to dinner and were entertained with music and the owner Vincent, a wonderful end to our day.
The next day we were again picked up by Henry and transported to Vista Los Suenos Rain Forest for a ride on a zip line. It was so much fun…even if I was scared. From there we checked in at the El Pardor Resort and Spa in Manuel Antonio Central Pacific. What a beautiful place to stay. We spent the afternoon at the Manuel Antonio National Park which opened up to the most beautiful beach. The water was gorgeous and warm. We went on a Catamaran ride that was great. Swam in the ocean and had a wonderful lunch which included a fresh caught fish. The next day we went White River Rafting. What an adventure. Everything we did was wonderful. We were returned safely and on time to the San Jose Airport for our travel home. I hope to return again and will definitely use Tachiz Travel. They are the best.response / report this review -

Tachiz Travel planned and orchestrated a superb spring break vacation in March for our family. This was a first time trip for our family to Costa Rica. The planning was flawless and we appreciate the extra special care and contact that Tachiz Travel gave.

We had a wonderful time in Costa Rica in spite of the fact that our airline was delayed 8 hours. Alec, the owner of Tachiz and his wife Blanca were there at the airport along with the driver to take us to our destination 3 hours away from the airport. They welcomed us and gave us a welcome gift. We had 8 days of activities that Tachiz orgainzed for us including zip lines, river rafts, horseback riding, flight to Corcovado park, snorkeling, guided tour of the jungles in Corcovado with lots of animals, La Paz waterfalls and a visit to a volcano. At each segment Tachiz was there waiting for us to take our next experience. Drivers were very informative and friendly. These people are Costa Ricans, and they know what is special in their country much more than a travel agent from the states who might visit 1 or 2 times to check out the experiences. This makes a huge difference in getting the most out of a vacation. Francisco, the other owner called us the day we were leaving to wish as well. I would highly recommend Tachiz travel for anyone considering visiting Costa Rica. In fact some of my friends are going, and I plan on letting them know of Tachiz. Thanks Alec and Francisco and all of the Tachiz employees!
