I went for a ride at Sabines smiling horses about 2 weeks ago, when I was in Monteverde. I know a little bit about horses and use to ride many years ago. Well what a beautiful place this is, Sabines knowledge and understanding of her horses absolutely blew me away. The horses are stunning and well kept which is unique in a destination like this. We went on the most beautiful long trail with the best views of have ever seen in Monteverde and surrounding areas. I felt comfortable from the get go and was made to feel very safe even though I haven't ridden in years. I felt my horse was perfectly matched to not only my personality but also to the fact that I was a little nervous. I really really enjoyed this experience and will be doing it again when I visit Monteverde next time. It was a pleasure to not only meet Sabine but also have the chance to interact with such happy horses and make a whole day of it. Absolutely loved it!!!

My family and I were traveling through Costa Rica in mid January of 2016. One of our stops was Sabine’s Smiling Horses. We went for a three hour tour, which included a waterfall, a walk through a reforestation program, and a break for some locally grown coffee at a coffee shop with humming bird feeders. This tour was defiantly the biggest highlight on our trip. Our guide, Alonso, was a local horseman who as extremely friendly and spotted a toucan and a sloth along the way. Even though he did not speak English, communication was no issue at all. My two daughters have horseback riding lessons back home, and both of them have a passion for horses. My husband and I are not riders, but we went on the ride for the kids. The tour we went on was perfect for both experience levels, as all four of us felt fulfilled afterwards. The detail and care Sabine gives to her horses and clients is exquisite; when riding at Sabine’s stable you feel the presence of value and quality in the service. This experience is an unforgettable one for my family, thank you!
