Had some good reviews and an article about using organic products and local meats but I doubt it. Food had zero flavor. If you go here you will be upset you wasted your time and money. We are! Also the pictures of food with reviews are old. They don't make the plates pretty at all. Food just dropped on plate. My food was missing a key item that made the whole dish instead of telling me they didn't have part of dish they serve it hoping I didn't notice. We ordered some authentic dishes but were served store bought chips and store bought plantains. We went here for fresh food not frozen heated up food. I brought up how food had no taste to owner but he didn't do anything about it. Much better places to eat that have good cooks. I would skip this one.
There is a reason the place is empty.

Great food, friendly service. Easy to understand the menu. The restaurant upstairs was good for my family, including a toddler. The bar downstairs looked fun to hang out with tourists, but we didn't spend time in there.

Great place, and the best food I had in playa Hermosa. Lots of tv's so I got to watch my Steelers loose but Kent, the owner is a really cool guy and the bartender who's name I forgot is super sweet. Definately grab some food and drinks at this place. If you stop in in Wednesday they have karaoke and are about the only place open late

Just had a nice meal with my lovely wife. The service was great and the owner Kent was very accommodating to us and all the other guests. .i ordered the Chifritos. It was delicious
The local craft beers were also a nice treat and having all those TVs with plenty of sports to watch was nice

Fun atmosphere, good food, and responsive and friendly staff. We enjoyed talking with Kent, the owner, and some of the regular guests. Great place to watch a game or have a relaxing dinner.

So, so slow. So, so disappointing. Food took over and hour and a half to get. Tasted ok. No thing to brag about. Don't waste your time.

Just ate here last night and Kent, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Food was delicious and we loved how almost everything they serve is made in-houseincluding their delicious chips! The place was cute and very clean with a really nice vibe. Large open windows made us feel like we were outside, but we were well protected from the rain! They have several TVs with numberous sporting events playing, but wasn't too sports bar like.

We had a great experience at the Sandbar last night. If you're looking to mix up the typical rice and beans offerings of Costa Rica this is the place to go. They have inventive, locally inspired meal choices on the menu along with traditional American offerings like buffalo wings and a delicious juicy Angus beef burger. We loved the options for food as well as drinks. Tasty Sangria and their own specially crafted cocktails make this place a must visit if you're in the area. The owner and waitress were especially nice and take pride in this restaurant. Check it out!!

I spent a month in Costa Rica and Sandbar had the best food. I fell in love with the place.
But it wasn't the great food that made this such a special place for me. The people at Sandbar will treat you like you matter. They shared their thoughts, culture and language with me.

I also had the opportunity to meet the chef, she was kind enough to stop working for a little while and speak with me.

Lastly I'd like to say that I laughed so hard when I was there that I should have felt embarrassed, but I wasn't the place has a you belong kind of vibe.

We found this place on our second to last night.

They have the best food in town. We had dinner there and the atmosphere was great, the food was spectacular, the drinks are great, and the staff was friendly.

I had a steak and it was perfectly cooked, my wife had chicken and it looked great. We also had the tres leches, which I generally don't like, but it was divine, I highly recommend trying it.

Truly the best place in town. If we would have found it sooner we would have gone there every night.
