I thought the accommodations and staff would be a bit better. Though beds were comfortable, the neighborhood was questionable.

Very pleased with this hotel. I wasn’t too sure what to expect being this was my first time in Costa Rica. The hotel is in a great location. Very centralized to many hiking spots and the downtown area. There are also several great restaurants in walking distance. There’s also a gorgeous park directly across the street. Go on a Sunday morning around 8am for some Costa Rican fun. You’ll thank me later. MOST importantly, it’s a very safe location. As for the hotel itself, the complimentary breakfast is awesome. The chef, made some dishes I will certainly be missing. Norma, one of the waitresses, is AMAZING. She is so friendly and made it a priority to get to know us. She taught me some Spanish, and also gave recommendations on things to do. Absolute sweetheart. The maids kept the rooms tidy, although if you want more coffee in the room, or extra lotions, you have to ask - just a heads up. Additionally, as friendly as the hotel staff is, a few of the receptionists don’t really speak English. Not a deal break at all. You don’t really interact with them other than check in and check out. I just thought it was kind of interesting that out of all the people who speak English in the hotel, the receptionists aren’t some of them. The fitness center is kind of non-existent - there are three pieces of old equipment that don’t really work. If you want a place with a fitness center, this isn’t one of them. Also, the jacuzzi isn’t that hot, unless you go to it during the day when it’s hot outside, so don’t expect a hot jacuzzi after a long day. Overall, I would, and probably will, stay at this hotel if I make it back down to San Jose. I highly recommend this place for someone who wants a safe hotel in a centralized location for a fairly inexpensive cost, with an amazing restaurant staff.

Except having a room without windows and a very tiny gym, I found the hotel very calm, good staff, a service of free airport shuttle. 10minutes by taxi from town

We stayed at Rincon del Valle from Jan 25 - 27, 2018. It was a great stay! We were greeted upon our arrival with a freshly made fruit drink in a champagne glass which was refreshing after our 11.5 flight. We were very welcomed and they were happy to see us. The doorman/bellhop put our bags on a room cart and showed us to our room. He then showed us the safe and how to work it, the lights, etc. He was very polite and kind. We had exceptional service from all the staff.
The free breakfast was amazing! The rooms are well kept and include air conditioning, TV, blow dryer, soap/shampoo/conditioner, mini fridge, etc. We had a king size bed and there was one luggage rack.
I would highly recommend Ricon del Valle to anyone who is going to San Jose, Costa Rica. It is great value for what you get.

We stayed here last year and we were extremely pleased and for that visit I would have given them a 5 star rating. We came back this year, but I am not impressed as much. We love the location - it is a quiet neighborhood with lots of great stuff within walking distance and the bus picks up around the corner to go downtown. The bed is comfortable, the room is clean, the breakfast is pretty good, and the staff is friendly. Downside the room they gave us this time for a king room is small and there is not even room to put our suitcase. The room said it had a refrigerator as one of the amenities - only problem is that there is no electric for the refrigerator and even after I ran an extension cord to it is does not work. Generally we still like it, but more so so this time around.

Hôtel en périphérie de SanJosé.très tranquille, commode ! Les chambres sont spacieuses, très bien équipées, et le personnel attentioné !
Attention au resto qui est un peu cher par rapport à la qualité !

The Hotel was very clean. I did not like the fact there wasn't coffee in any of the rooms. Also we were told once we checked in only two people could stay in a suite when we had 4. They refused to let the other couple stay unless they paid an extra 60. We also had the option to find another room on the internet. Finally they allowed us to get another one for 70.00 with no breakfast or other services. I was really disappointed. Very disappointed about the breakfast because the clerk said they would have breakfast since we were leaving early. When we got to the desk, they informed us there was no breakfast for our room. Again no coffee any where!!
Shuttle was 20 minutes late leaving because we waited for another customer who never showed up.
