Yuge farmers market. I go there daily to be fruits and greens for my family business, you can save a good chunk of money if you look around. I will recommend to go on Saturday morning, because Alajuela can get quite hot and it may rain (specially on the rainy season) after midday. Do not go on Friday at night, as that area of the city gets a bit sketchy. You can get there by car, there is a parking lot with reasonable fares. If you go by foot it is a good idea to bring your own bags or even better a granny cart. If you go overboard on your shopping you can always get a taxi at the exit.

Best farmer's market in Alajuela. Huge parking lot. Best prices and freshest vegetables and fruits you can find.
