Beach was pretty secluded if you are coming from the Resort. Very Fine black sand. Perfect temperature water. Lacking in big waves as it is more of a mini harbor for small boats. Hotel seems more populated with Couples or small families. No Spa on premises. Have to get a ride into town, so take note of that. 'Father Rooster's' is the only other option outside of the hotel Restaurant for nearby food that is walkable. It's right on the beach and plays a variety of tunes on the soundsystem. Chill vibe. Maybe a tad sluggish on service. Okay food. But, having beers/food overlooking the beach is pretty cool. Back on the Ocotal Property, the Views are Spectacular as you move on up the property. The Rooms are totally fine. Clean. Cool. Bathroom sink/toilet are good. The shower/tub in our room could use a little TLC, but the Water Pressure and and temperature control are fine. Clock radio has an 8th inch plug to hook up to your 'mp3 player' of choice if you need some tunes. The Infinity pool at the top is totally killer for views. They have a little cabana area that could be setup for serving drinks or even a makeshift dj booth, but was not operational when we were there. Front Desk Staff was so so and note that they do not have the Airport Tax forms ($28 exit fee) here for you. They claim you have to take care of, at the airport. Some hotels offer this service. Rest of the grounds staff was pleasant. Lots of Lizards and Birds flying about too. Again, the view is killer! Grab some beers/liquor in town and chill by your room or near the pool areas (3 of them). It is a bit of a hike to get down to the beach if you are at the very top, but they do offer free Lounge Chairs to drag onto the beach once you get there.
