Our group of 10 ended up here after our flight out of Liberia Costa Rica was cancelled due to weather. It is nearby the airport. No food available at hotel or nearby. Room was okay for a short night sleep before heading back to airport. Pool was small but was just what we needed to cool down after a stressful day. Beer and water for sale in Lobby. Price was reasonable. AC was cold. Guy at the front desk was only marginally helpful. Would not switch my room when we asked because there was a strong chemical odor when we opened the door. Nice shower.

Staff was nice. Price is right. Location is on the main highway. Room was 10 degrees hotter than outside and no functional window in the room and no remote available in the room. Miserable night sleep.

Room AC set to 17 Celsius. Way too cold. Magnetic security card controls all lightsvery inconvenient. Breakfast consists of ONE cup of coffee, ONE OJ, TWO slices of toast. More costs extra. Day clerk helpful. One extra star because of him.

Clean and pretty well kept but to many rules for our taste. We tried drying our pool towels on the rail outside our room and were told this was not allowed. I mean really, the place was pretty empty. Helpful employees.

This is an absolutely horrible hotel. My husband and I "missed" our flight back to the US (i.e. you can't get your tickets at the airline counters unless you are at the counter 61 minutes before boarding, even if the whole airport is EMPTY) and the Hilton was full so we had to stay here. After all the fuss associated with American Airlines and rebooking fees and whatnot, you can imagine how irritated I was when we got to Hotel Rincon del Llano so, when we were done checking in, I wanted to buy a beer (which they have in a cooler along with other soft drinks near the front desk). The man told me it was "too early." It was between 4-5pm.
We were disgusted when we got into our room. You have to have a key card to run the air conditioning, there is no hot water to shower, and the bed was very uncomfortable. After spending $600 in one day on unexpected expenses, we just wanted to kick back and relax. It is definitely not somewhere you want to be stuck for 12-16 hours if you don't speak Spanish, since the TV channels are obviously Spanish and there's either no Wi-Fi or it doesn't actually work. It would be okay for a place to crash, but I strongly disagree with the reviews that say "comfortable." What's more, the taxi rides even just a mile or two away are outrageously expensive ($20). If you do get stuck staying here, there's a local restaurant right down the road that has great food and friendly people.
Also, don't drink the tap water at this hotel.

Extremely unfriendly, I had asked my dad to stop by because I was going to leave somethings behind before leaving the next morning and to spend 30 minutes or so together. They said no because it was again their policy. Too bad their policy did not said anything about them being super loud at the pool area during late hours. After begging they allowed my dad to spend 10 minutes what a joke.

Staff not friendly or helpful by Costa Ricans standards. Requests for silverware and glassware to the room (we had food and drinks) were denied because it was against Hotel policies. So I offered to buy food and a bottle of wine at the empty restaurant if they let me bring it up to the room. Nope, again hotel policy.
The place looks decent, convenient only 5 km away from airport and has potential but not with the current staff or management. I rarely provide negative feedback but I thought this could serve as a warning the other guests

Had a wonderful short stay at this 3-star hotel.
Hotel is conveniently located a few minutes away from the airport. Perfect spot for my 24 hour layover in Liberia.
Air-conditioned bedroom was clean, bed was super comfortable, shower had great hot water pressure.
The restaurant offers home cooked style meals, fresh and made to order. Dont miss their fresh tortillas! Restaurant prices are reasonable.
I lounged by the pool until it was time for my next flight :)
