  Great place to visit for touring Costa Rica. Beautiful architecture and the interior is beautiful. A must stop by place if you are visiting this country.

  We visited the Teatro only because we had a free day in San Jose before embarking on a tour. It turned out to be one of our favorite activities. This is a beautiful theater. It is not a huge venue, but the history and mechanics are fascinating. One of the most fascinating aspects is that the lower level is built on a system of manually operated screw jacks that can raise and lower the entire floor!

  The actors of CR have serious talent and passion. We saw Shakespeare's a Midsummer's Night Dream and it was magical. It had that Latin swagger, romance, and laughter throughout. And this is coming from someone who doesn't speak Spanish. They were very hospitable, putting me and my wife in front row even though we bought 2nd level seating. Lastly, the Theatre Cafe is a great place to grab some wine and food before the show.
