This is a nice spot and probably a must visit if you are in town. The setting is top of the line. The servers are welcoming and are happy to have a conversation. The beach area is pretty big and people even play soccer on the sand. The food was pretty good but overpriced especially when you consider how far out you need to go just to get there. The setting makes you forgot all that though. Don't forgot to get drinks and a coconut to wash it all down.

Crowded but fun as a beach bar. Food is way better than you would expect. Those servers are overworked tip them!

Lolas was one of the best parts of our trip to Costa Rica! This little gem located on a quiet, beautiful white sand beach in Playa Avellanas had AMAZING food made with fresh and local ingredients and delicious drinks! We had the fish and chips, greek chicken wrap and the tuna poke and for drinks we had the freshly made mojitos and caipirinha's - mm!! It was so good we came here twice. The staff were super nice and attentive and the scenery was just amazing, right on the ocean so you can watch the waves while you eat and hang out. Great little hideaway, its down a bumpy road but so worth it and we saw howler monkeys on the way!! Also Lolita is the cutest!

Used to be a cool place around this part of Guanacaste, but now a tourist trap. $18 for 2 tacos?! Get back to your old ways, Lola's.

Overpriced tourist trap. The food should be much cheaper, or at least much better. The drinks also seem to be watered down.

Outstanding view and atmosphere! I could lay there forever. The big downside is that they know they are the only game in town. Service is awful and the prices are outrageous for what you get. If it werent for the heavenly setting, i would give it one star. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful place in front the beach, our perfect spot in middle of our adventure by Bike. Good food, friendly people, quite expensive, no discounts incentives on food for tour Guides.

Nice place, we did not get to eat here as the kitchen closed at 5:00 pm, and we got the at 5:30, but the beer was cold, it is a nice destination, the road in and out is about 20 minutes of dirt track that was very rutted when we were here, I understand that they fix the road twice a year and trust me it was about due again, but fun even for only the modest adventurer

Great view (hence the 1 star). My wife and I heard great things about Lola's so we took the low tide (not possible at high tide) walk the couple miles down the beach from our resort. The service was "very" slow. The food was terrible at best. I got the burger. It was way overcooked, little to no flavor and it was served on a roll that was stale and falling apart. My wife got the 2 taco plate and only took 1 bite. The worst was the bugs. All kinds of bugs from hornets, biting flies, biting ants and a huge I have no idea what they were (I wish I could attach the picture I took). I understand bug issues are challenging but when I tell you the tables, plates and overall seating area were overrunall I will say is trust me it was NOT enjoyable to say the least. All in all, not a repeat stop for me and my wife even though we will certainly be returning to the JW Guanacaste Marriott.

Best surf cafe I have ever been to. My kids love seeing the 300 lb pig Lolita and the food is great. Plus there is great surfing and boogie boarding right there on the beach.

Even though we came when it was closed (by mistake, our fault), we got to check out the place and the beach. Beautiful location and the wooden furniture, tables, and chairs are amazing. Wish we had a chance to try out the food, as all the reviews are great. We will be back here if we have a chance to return to Costa Rica.

Good food and right on the beach with shade. On the pricey side, as are most places in CR that take dollars, but nice nonetheless. Huge pig for your viewing pleasure.

The service was good. The food was B level. You're mostly paying for the atmosphere. The pig that hangs out is A+++. Chill music, cool chairs. Kitchen closes at 5pm. Seems to be a great place for a snack after a day at the beach, and before sunset.

Too expensive! Too expensive only because is in front of the beach. In my opinion, is it better go to a restaurant that is 350meters from Avellanas it's name is Gregórios, there are different food options and is cheaper!

WE LOVED THIS PLACE!!! Right on the beach, at the end of a rough dirt road, and packed with charm! The menu was great, though a bit expensive. The ambiance was second to none that I've experienced in Costa Rica so far. The tables and chairs are all simple pieces of wood that are finished to look like pieces of art.comfortable and simple. The food was good and the service was decent. I definitely recommend it!
