The bathrooms were dirty or the sink didn’t even work.
The hosts weren’t able to coordinate their bookings, so we had to move from one cabin to another one.
The mattress was approximately 3 cm thick and the reception looked more like a mess than a reception.
There’s no breakfast and the coffe was made in a can I would never put something to eat or drink in.
At least the hosts were friendly - so one star.

My husband and I enjoy rustic cabins and have traveled CR many times. This hotel is misrepresented. No coffee maker working stove or blender. Kayaks leak per managers warning. Old broken fridge on patio. Broken freezer door as we opened fridge in kitchen . Rusty beach chairs with no cushions. 3ft wasp/hornets nest on adjacent cabin close to us and no screens on windows. This place is poorly maintained. Not worth price. Hardly a step above camping. Did not honor refund policy.

Great place, very calm with a swimming pool and a private beach. The owner is highly friendly. He offers a lot of free stuff, like surf board, kayak, vélo If you want a super clean place with no insects, air conditioning and hot water, you should pass.

One step above camping in a tent. Not quite what we were expecting, but it was an experience. A rooster crows every morning at 2 am, 3 am, and 5 am. My advice is to rent an ATV so you can get around in Cabuya. The bus timetable is not reliable.
