Low review due to less-than-friendly Diego at front desk. The hotel itself had reasonable prices, and comfortable rooms with our private room including a dorm style 2-level bed, as well as the queen bed. Diego showed us little patience, with short answers to our questions. We tried to enquire about tours and our options to head to the cloud forest given that we were only staying there for one night. We later found out from other sources that there was the possibility of heading to the night forest on our own, with a public bus that afternoon. We had to ask for wifi, laundry services, bus options - all of which appeared to bother Diego.

We had a great stay - one of the nicer hostels of our trip so far (10 weeks and counting). The staff we great and very friendly - we mixed up the breakfast times and we still given something to eat. We arrived after getting married in Arenal and our room was decorated with balloons and love hearts and Yorle had left a bottle of wine for us. So thoughtful. The room was spacious and everything was very clean.

SKIP IT. It’s expensive. And I felt like I was at summer camp being watched the whole time. They have SO many rules and fines. The staff is rude. Save your money and stay at hammock house for half the price and it’s a beautiful, warm hostel :)

I was very unhappy with this place :(

Awesome hostel to stay at in Monteverde. Spacious and sparkling clean rooms. Super friendly and helpful bilingual staff. Great showers and fast wifi. Highly recommend staying here

I stayed one night in this hotel, and it was probably the less comfortable of my trip. My room was tiny with three beds, no fans, not very clean and a scorpion was hidden in the bed and bit my friend. I know we were not lucky on this one but it says long on the quality of the hotel. The kitchen and public space are cool though.

My friends and I only stayed her for one night but had a very positive experience. We arrived in Santa Elena at about 11pm that night, and the front desk of another hostel we had already booked was already closed. We weren't able to find any hostels that were open and were worrying we would have to sleep in the car. We stopped and asked someone if there were any places to stay that would be open. She led us to this hostel where she woke up the manager and he checked us in. We were incredibly grateful for his hospitality, not to mention the room was clean and a simple breakfast of cereal, toast and coffee was even provided.

The lady at the front desk MADE this place. She was so much help would call, check price, times, length, anything you wanted to know. Then would book it as requested. So so so helpful. Breakfast was a real meal and changes daily. Usually opened with toast and fruit and then eggs and something (pancakes,bacon, sausage, etc).
