Spartan and accommodating. No pool or sauna or any of the fancy stuff that we don't want anyway so this was perfect for us.Just a couple of beds in a private room with a private bathroom. The owner, Johnny has always made us feel at home and never complains when we arrive or depart late at night or early in the morning. The place is right across the highway from SJO and it's a $4 ride to the airport. We've been there four times so far and it will always be our place to stay to catch an early flight out.

Johnny's place is an excellent option for arrival and departure days at the San Jose airport, SJO. His place is simple, spotless, safe and literally within walking distance of the airport though I highly recommend spending $4 on a cab that Johnny can arrange for you. Johnny's English is excellent if you prefer to communicate in English. We did not park a car there, but there is secure parking available at his place. His place is more typical of a Costa Rican home and less like a North American hotel. If you are timid traveler and are not prepared to immerse yourself in the country that you are visiting then you might be better off paying more for the American brand hotels in the area. You would miss out on meeting a very friendly Tico with great local knowledge and having a more authentic Costa Rican travel experience.

The Best Option near Juan Santamaria International Airport!!
Lovely Costa Rican family run business, very clean and comfy bedrooms with private bath, fast Wi Fi, really good rates and food! Easy going no stress!
Very safe and clean area, there is no reason to go downtown San Jose!

Estuve una sola noche, una muy buena opción para quienes necesitan estar cerca del aeropuerto para un vuelo temprano al día siguiente. El propietario Jonh es muy amable y agradable. Solvento todas nuestras preguntas. El precio me parece adecuado, 50usd por una habitación triple. Lo recomiendo.

The place is full of bed bugs and fleasEwwwwww :( and hotel owner Johnny refused to give us clean towels or sheets after several days stuck there as he forgot to call our taxi and told US to walk to main street where he said there were taxis but all taxis that passed were already full so tried walking to airport but dangerous road With no sidewalk. What a nightmare this place was!
